JG-1_Vogel Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 I'm thrilled to see the A-10 flying already, and gutted that I can't afford it for the next month or so :(... but curious to know how you guys are finding it performance wise. Seriously looking like this sim could knock Falcon off its spot after so long! Now, I know this is still the beta... and thus the fps figures aren't final as there is a lot of optimisation to be done. However! I'm eager to get in on the pre-purchase with the beta and curious as to how my new rig will hold up... so here are the specs. - Case: Antec 300 Case with Alien Green case fans. - Power Supply: Corsair Extreme 600W - CPU: Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz Clarkdale overclocked to 4.20GHz - Motherboard: Gigabyte H55M-UD2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard - Cooler: Akasa Venom CPU Cooler - RAM: Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit - Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX460 768Mb GDDR5 - Sound: Realtek 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board) - Optical Drive: LG DVD+/-RW SATA Drive - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit I'm guessing I'll be running the 32bit client to start with, until Natural Point releases 64bit drivers for Track IR... I'm not flying without it! If any of you have a similar spec I would be grateful to see what performance your getting out of it! Regards, Lonewolf.
159th_Royalman Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Lonewolf stop posting on the ED forums and start earning some money to buy DCS:A10C. You're really missing out on this!!! 159th Guards Aviation Regiment | We fly Su33 - Su25T - Ka50 :pilotfly:
Roadhog Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 it will run perfect on that system. You might have to upgrade your optical drive though. Maybe one that supports SLI. Maybe change your case fan color too. ;)
JG-1_Vogel Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 My optical drive? Forgive my ignorence but what effect will that have on my FPS?
Bvoiash Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I think he's just playing around with you LoneWolf :).
Axel40 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Guys, how does it run when compared to Black Shark? Example, I can run BS with all bells and whistles and get a low of 30 fps and a high of 100+ when looking at sky and so on. This is at 1600x1050 and all settings on the high side. So, compared to BS, how does this run please? Are the fps comparable, broadly speaking of course? (and a rough estimate will be fine)

Axel40 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Yea, thanks for that. I figured as much but much better to hear it from the horses mouth as they say :) Might wait for further BETA's..
Roadhog Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 My optical drive? Forgive my ignorence but what effect will that have on my FPS? Just messing with you. You posted asking if it will run on a system that will run crysis decently... A10 looks like an early 2000 game. :p

cheezy Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 How will it run on a system like this? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5766611&CatId=1886 I'm getting this as a new computer
Revelation Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 How will it run on a system like this? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5766611&CatId=1886 I'm getting this as a new computer Should be just fine. *EDIT* The only thing I recommend is adding a second HD putting them both in RAID0 so you can increase your HD access time and greatly speed up the loading of... everything. Roadhog Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Maybe on your system... A-10C looks far better than an early 2000 game on my system! It was an exaggeration, but it still doesn't look that great. The ground textures are extremely blurry for example. They should be higher res IMO since you spend most of your time looking at them.

Second Hardrive? Like one for the OS. Not sure how I'd do that I'm not good with computers. But will it run well on that stock computer?
Rusty_M Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 so Raid0 speeds things up? The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
