RowsdowerRoe Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 So, I'll probably get banned and yelled at by a million people after posting this, but I'm pissed. Can't even play the game because, not only does my keyboard not have a "pause/break" key on it... but I have been playing video games for 25 years and have never even effing heard of a "pause/break" effing key!!! What kind of moron developer puts that in a game? What about the "p" key? Or, hey, maybe the "/" key? Or maybe even the never used "end" key? But the "pause/break" effing key? Go eff yourselves you effing jokers... Way to go. Back to Microsoft Flight Sim Back to X-Plane 9 Never again Lock On. Never again. 1
Steel Jaw Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Dunno what country you're in but I have ALWAYS, in 25 years, seen a pause/break key. WTF dude. Get it together. RowsdowerRoe Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Regardless... my keyboard doesn't have it and there's no way around it... so maybe you can help me get it together Mr. Callingitthewayyouseeitsince1998.
vanir Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 A new US-standard keyboard costs what, $15? I have an IBM keyboard, it's about 20yrs old and has the pause key, it's to the right of the scroll key. I've a third party gaming keyboard, has it. Naturally my microsoft keyboard is modern American-standard so that has it. I understand foreign keyboard layouts all have it. Your keyboard obviously doesn't have it marked and you're throwing a tantrum, but you probably have it. Even if you didn't, a brand new keyboard costs what, $15? Learn to problem solve. It will help your life.
joey45 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 On my G15 Keyboard the Pause/Break key is to the right of the Scroll Lock and above the Page Up key.. Had a look in the optons and changed it there? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. vanir Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 there you go, you can map additional keys in the options for the plane you want to fly. In most games I use the spacebar for pause (or wheel brakes). Alternative no.2 in the world of problem solving.
BoneDust Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Sorry mate, but every keyboard I've own since 1990 has had a pause/break key. Do you have a standard keyboard? I've probably got a few keyboards kicking around, but they are reletively inexpensive to purchase. I think it is regrettable you called the developers morons for something like this because a pause/break key is very common. I understand your frustration not being able to fly though, but your issue is easily fixed:thumbup: Alienware New Aurora R15 | Windows® 11 Home Premium | 64bit, 13thGen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9 13900KF(24-Core, 68MB| NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 4090, 24GB GDDR6X | 1 X 2TB SSD, 1X 1TB SSD | 64GB, 2x32GB, DDR5, 4800MHz | 1350W PSU, Alienware Cryo-tech (TM) Edition CPU Liquid Cooling power supply | Pimax Crystal VR
