For some reason, I cannot receive digital target assignments from the JTAC in every mission I try. I can only receive vocal radio target assignments, and this makes it impossible to locate the targets properly. Am I setting up my SADL net improperly, or is it a beta bug? please help.

Assuming the SADL switch is on, you have to get to the point of reading back the JTAC briefing. Once you do, he says he's transmitting and it should show up on your TAD and flashing "Message" in the HUD.

Are you using the "\" to respond to ALL instructions? The most important is reading back the 9-LINE. You can also verify that you are getting the message by clicking on "MSG" in your right MFD. It will show you the messages received.

Ultimately you could be experiencing a bug, so don't get too frustrated over it.

Just to take this thread a little further, once you have read back the 9 line and WILCO'd the point data on the TAD I can see the red triangle however if I go to the MSG page all I can see is the titles of the 9-line with no content ie.

IP:

HDG:

DIST:

ELEV:

DESC:

etc

I assume this is a bug, or am I missing something.

Cheers

O.k so when the JTAC says he's ready to give the 9-line, I say give the 9-line and after he's done reading what do I say after that?

There actually is:

Looks like the Shooting Range mission with a later build, so you can try it out yourself. Functionality is pretty much the same, but you don't get voices.

Wags posted it in this thread which is probably also worth reading.

I like it, but are the voices final? I think a slightly longer pause between letters and numbers would help with the choppiness, especially with the pilot, of the two, the JTAC sounds more natural.

You might want to take a gander at some videos on YouTube with JFAC/JTACs, you don't always get the luxury of time.

Ok so does this mean that the JTAC only works fully in the shooting range mission? because I have had all my failed JTAC experiences in the campaign and create fast mission missions

Set the JTAC radio freq on VHF 1 and then press MIC switch to VHF 1 Transmit.

It's the only place I've had it seem to completely work for me. In a test mission I made it mostly worked, but stopped responding after I hit the target. But it's definitely not fully implemented in the open beta so don't stress too much about it.
