26-J39 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 ^^ That is the only thing stopping me from buy it now. I really want the beta, but I really want the box as well - the box itself, the stuff inside, the original DVD with graphics printed on it - just opening a box for a new game is so satisfying... Its so hard to decide  It's easy, buy both :P I bought 2 reg keys (one for a server) and when I see it on the shelf in store i'll probably have to buy that too.. But seriously maybe buy the Beta now, with all the money you will save from spending hours in the warthog office you can put towards the boxed version? Still some time before the retail release.. ;)
airea Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Are all of the avionics and flight systems operational now? I mean there are many stuff still WIP but I think those are mostly related to weapons physics, maps, AI etc. If I buy the beta now, I would probably have some time learning how to fly the thing, but if there will be many changes in avionics and flight systems, then I should wait for the final release I guess...

There won't be substancial changes, just bits and pieces being finished. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Huckle Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Is there an ETA on the printed manual? Aside from going nuts on one of the work printers, I'd like to have the book in hand for 1st flight.

Its so hard to decide  I understand , i had the sameproblem so i always waited for boxed version and bought BS and LOFC2 on DVD. Mad Dog 7.62 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Only my opinion, but I think you will see a lot of improvements over the next 4-6 weeks. Even now, DCS:A-10 is more complete and stable than some sims that are released as supposedly done. They seem to be near the point of working out the final details and optimizing. I am betting you will see the final out by early December and it will be as complete as BS was, then maybe a patch in a few months to clear up the final, obscure things that always come out of the woodwork after the final release.
