That's odd, I don't have any option for "Easy Communication" in my GamePlay Options tab.

Not an option in the Open-Beta.

Anyone have information on standard freq/type used IRL for JTAC, FAC, AWACS, etc?

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

In the real world JTACs / FACs ordinarily use UHF(AM) freqs - No clue on AWACS (but i would assume they use the same)

I think I understand the concept of the two VHF radios, you can set one for your flight, and one for your package or homeplate. But I'm confused about the UHF radio. The manual states that it is usually used to talk to the JTAC however when setting a unit as the JTAC I always have to set the VHF radio to his freq. How do you configure the mission so the JTAC uses UHF?

EDIT: Ive answered my own question, you set the freq for the JTAC to more than 300MHz in the mission editor. then you can use the UHF radio.

I've got a stupid question. How do you set the MHz to 300 in Mission Editor?????

For air units you can set the frequency they use in the main settings for the group, next to COMM.

For ground units, you need to add commands to set the callsign and frequency manually. Hit the big "ADVANCED" button under the waypoint information for the group, and it'll show the list of actions. Click on the ADD button at the bottom of that list, and from the new menu that appears, select type: "Perform command" and Action "Set frequency". You'll also want to add another command "Set callsign".

Check this page for radio freq examples.. plus Redflag recordings and target GPS coords around Nellis.
