...seems like it would be an easy fix...even before the new update comes out.

It gets frustrating having to restarta mission simply because my Norton Anti-Virus tells me something.

Thanks, Diego

steam announcements take focus and crash the sim more than anything else for me lol.

I know..... close out steam. I've tried to find a way, but I don't think there is an option in steam to have it not steal focus.

It would be great if dcs would detect that and pause the game, and also not crash.

As a temp fix, run in windowed mode with the same resolution as your monitor.

Nate

I would just suggest doing this normally; in my experience there's been no difference in quality/screen size playing in windowed mode vs. fullscreen. Steam announcements or new email popups won't crash the game either.

Isn't there a performance hit for running in windowed mode?

Unless you use a very old norton AV, right click norton icon in tray and click on "Turn on silent mode". Now norton won't bother you :)

There´s a quite easy trick to run the game windowed while it looks like full screen Mode. Just keep your native resolution and deselect the fullscreen options. Though you got a windowed game while it looks like full screen and you can go to desktop whenever you want to. It works pretty fine with two screens. havent tested it yet with only one screen.

That's true but there's still a performance decrease running in windowed mode.

May not crash it but I still can't alt-tab back into the game after tabbing out in full-screen mode.

most times alt-tab'ing back into a 3-d application you've got to run through any other open app. I know I always have 3 programs open so I do a 4x alt-tab and i'm good. You might want to experiment with shift-alt-tab, that might get you right back in.
