VMFA-Blaze Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 I was able to download FC yesterday and I'm very impressed with it to say the least.... The thing that I'm now digging into is the training missions...... I'm not going to say anything negative about Shepski's missions, because they were actually very good, but without the voice overs there was certainly something missing...... Now that ED has put all of those UBI issues behind them, like for example UBI trying to make Lock on resemble Forgotten Battles in so many ways... Well its not!! This simulator has a much larger learning curve then IL2.... I'm not trying to take anything away from IL2 as I'm flying IL2,Forgotten Battles, Ace Expansion Pack, PF as well and its super, it's just that Lock on has a lot more detail to absorb before you can actually be proficent here...... So I've just got to say that Rich "IRON HAND" has done a awsome job on this and we really should thank him again..... I actually learned how to fly the SU-27, and learned a lot of combat manuvers through the training missions in Flanker 2.5 that were voiced over by Rich and Shepski and there were those tutorial's by Hamm. And this was long before the release of Lock on..... Actually I'm still trying to this day still get all of the details for the A-10 and F-15 and now with this new but old approach to training I should now accomplish these goals..... The mysterys of navigation buy steam guages is beginning to be solved for just one example, and with this new system I can also play on higher settings without slowdowns, which also helps considerably..... Skywall23 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Hye Blaze, Last I heared you were using GFTi4200.. do you still use it? I just got the game 2 days ago. I already completed the Su-27 tutorials... but let us be honest, only 2 tutorials were required to learn the new avionics on the russian fighter jets. Anyway, Im loving the TWS. Just rules. As for the voices overs... did Iron Hand already make voice overs for Flanker 2.5?! :o

As for the voices overs... did Iron Hand already make voice overs for Flanker 2.5?! :o Sorry guy but I never really used a GFTi4200 had a Gforce 400 128 an FX 5200 128 and a 5700 128 .... Actually I'm presentley useing a XFX GForce 6600 256 O/C'd which is hooked up to a Philips 30" HDTV wide screen by DVI2 to HDMI...... As far as the SU-27 I've been flying it since the Flanker days and I'm good I pcked up the new radar quite easily, it's the SU-25, A-10 and F-15 that I really need pratice at, allthought I've improveing with the F-15, steam guage navigation is where I need a lot of pratice...... As far as voiceovers, yes Rich did quite a few but I believe were avliable only on his IRON HAND web site, but I might be wrong..... I think it was Shepski and a few other vetern Flankerites that did the training V/O's in Flanker 2.5 .... But really this is the best training method IMHO..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
SUBS17 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Hey Blaze, check out the track superflanker. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 17, 2005 Author Posted May 17, 2005 Roger Subs, will do..... Thanks Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Again Thanks Subs... I just spent the better part of 2 hrs. watching some of the trailers and yes the ones that I've watched so far are just AWSOME!!!!!! The 25-T demo with the ship attack is of course the best one of all.... But running this even on this system does have a tendency to turn every thing into a slide show but yes its still playable though..... I'm planning on hooking up a KVM switch so that I'll be able to run some of the more detailed applications on my Sony direct view monitor which IMHO has the best claritey........ But I really like the ability now of leaving the desk and sitting in my leather chair in front of the wide screen though, It's just more immersive and I don't have to go to the expensive building a cockpit....... I'm really thinking about in the near future getting a new SLI mobo so I can hook up (2) 6800 256 allthough this is really expensive as well and I just finished this system ( LOL )... Any way I just bought a Cannon Power Shot elph d/c and I'll post some picks of my setup soon..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Nate Dogg Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Hey blaze, What resolution does that philips 30" HDTV go to? I was looking at getting a hdtv for pc and tv but they only went to 1024*768 or something close. cheers
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Hey blaze, What resolution does that philips 30" HDTV go to? I was looking at getting a hdtv for pc and tv but they only went to 1024*768 or something close. cheers Yes you can only use 1024x768 which is really ok for me..... The size of the screen really makes the immersion better and as I said earlier for higher resolution I'm switching over to my Sony .... But if I want higher resolution of course a 30" LCD be ideal if you can afford the $3,000.00 the Philips is only $ 900.00...... I've been looking in the stores at the quality of the large LCD picture and I honestly dont think that its that much better........... The lines around objects still seem a little blurred, the larger screens seem to have less clarity ...... My Sony direct view monitor is still the best as far as High Resolution goes.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
