I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get gun funnel for A/A combat. No problem with AIM9. I've read manual (562-566), but can't find cue. :helpsmilie:

I can actually help! When in air-to-air mode (hold m) you use I think DMS right or left short(or another hat switch not sure) whilst the hud is SOI; which switches between various types of funnel for differenct aircraft.

 

Edit: you can set up the various funnel aircraft types to select in the IFCC? menu - not entirely sure im getting all these system names right lol.

Not only will it answer your question, but it also explains how to change the gun funnels to ones calibrated to various aircraft, how to use the TGP in a-a mode to help aim your a-a missiles and also how to use the IFFCC TEST mode to access menus to calibrate the a-a gun funnel and add your own aircraft profiles to it.

Well, I've played it, but it stuck somewhere, when I fire first missile some button (I don't remember which) stayed marked and tutorial didn't go further. I'll try again.

Do you mean you can't get it to work? Try pressing the HUD Master Mode key long (for ~3 seconds) that should get the HUD to AA mode.

AA mission stuck for me too. Will have to try out the tips mentioned.

I must mention that it took a few attempts for me to get the A-A training mission to work. It seems that the mission takes your airspeed from the airspeed dial on the left dash rather than what is indicated on the HUD. As soon as I maintained the wanted speed by looking at that dial rather than the hud, the mission continued.

At air to air training mission I found hard to keep exact speed (250). I'm somewhere near (245 - 255). And tutorial does not continue. I'll wait for new beta or final version.

I can select different gunsights (3 of them) and one of them can help with air to air gunnery (circle that's higher in HUD than ground gunsight). But I can't switch on funnel like it's in manual (with two lines to aim wingspan).

this is how to do it:

press U so the hud is in SOI then hold the M button until you get air to air mode as indicated on the hud. Make sure the gun is armed and then press the page down button and now the funnel should appear. There are also different funnels ranging from SU 27 and SU 25 etc.

And I also think that on the training mission the speed should be at 250 not from the indicator on the hud but on the knot indicator on the center panel ;)
