Scooternutz Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hello Pilots, I got a Saitek Pro Throttle quadrant with great exceptions of using it for my throttle levers and landing gear lever. BS recognizes it but when I try to change the settings in options it gives me an error screen. If I leave it plugged in, I can't un-pause the game. Does anyone have ideas or seen this? If you need more info I can take a screen shot of the error. [sIGPIC]https://drive.google.com/file/d/16rUBmmJR7A3YGZVGPGskxG1XtvulGojJ/view?usp=sharing[/sIGPIC]
26-J39 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I don't think the Saitek throttle will function properly for throttle or gear. The throttle is an axis and the BS throttle and gear do not use axis control, only key presses. Maybe this is why it's not working, have u tried assigning the Saitek to your collective?
Bucic Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Yes, please post the error message. Do you use SST profile? Have you tested it in the SST built-in tester? Have you modified the default keyboard profile? Are you sure you don't confuse collective (smooth input for controlling the main rotor lift) with throttle levers (discrete 4-step input for engines RPM)? I use one of the X-52 axes to operate throttle levers using SST programing. You can check how I did it by downloading my SST profile for BS. A reminder: a SST profile will work for every Saitek device compatible with SST. 104th_Crunch Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I use this same Saitek quadrant for throttle in BS, never had any issues. Just went into the BS options to map it and that was it. Sorry I could not be of more help.
Slippery Pete Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I use the quadrant too. First thing you should do is clear the "Saitek Pro Flight Quad" category in the key assignments and the axis menu. BS will automatically assign keys to whatever device is plugged in. Once everything is clear then you can assign what you need, making sure nothing is duplicated or conflicting with other assignments to other devices. If you had the throttle axis assigned to something else before you'll need to clear that too. Other than that I cant say what else you should do. Everything works fine on my quadrant, both throttles and the collective are all working on the 3 axis, and I have the landing gear assigned to the far left axis' "negative" zone, which acts like a button.
