Heres an idea for v1.2 or the lockon successor. I currently use ventrillo to talk to other pilots plus external speakers. Is it possible for at some stage to add to the audio panel in the options for game sounds to only come out of the external speakers while the audio only comes out of the headset(or rear speakers in this setup) You could even take this up a notch and have warning tones and AWAC/Tower audio also come out of the rear speakers.

I use two sound cards in my PC to achieve the same effect. A cheap card (or onboard) for teamspeak/ventrillo, and my Audigy 2 Pro for regular sound with 5.1 speakers. It works quite well even though it can be a little awkward to configure, especially if your headset begins picking up sound from your speakers.

I use a USB Headset/mic. Aircraft sounds from my main speakers & Comms on my headphones. The headphones are small & dont block the main sound yet allow clear understanding of what others are saying. Being USB it comes up as a USB Audio Device in TS/Vent and I can change it between that & the soundcard (speakers) easily.

 

Sounds like what you may be after.
