Hi,

 

Is there any way to get DCS:W to recognize stick button 4 (paddle switch) to act as a shift instead of just another button?

 

I'd like to put the view on the trimmer switch as a shifted function.

I'm attempting to do the same using button 4 as a shift key to map views to the coolie, no luck so far. I might be missing something.

Yep,

 

go into the control settings and click on the Modifiers button in the bottom left.

 

In the dialog, you can add the paddle switch as a new modifier. Then you can use it as a modifier when assigning the view to the trimmer. Just tried with zoom in/out on the DMS and it works for me.

be aware that the the ADD modifier is always dimmed.

That's a great tip, and it doesn't work for me though. I can assign the paddle as a modifier just fine, I then assign functions, and it works, as long as I don't leave the options menu. As soon as I leave, for a flight as an exemple, functions don't work. Even if I just go to the main menu and right back in options, functions are not working. weird eh?

Sorry to necro guys but this post is the closest I can find that matches the subject I am searching.

 

I have a problem hopefully someone will have some experience with & can offer a solution.

 

When I use S4 as a modifier instead of the shift state only working while its pressed it stays in a shifted state until I press it again.

Anyone else run into this problem & if so have a solution so S4 only works as a modifier when its pressed & held?

There are 2 kinds of modifiers. I forget what DCS calls them, but think "button" and "switch".

IIRC the buttons are on the left, switches on the right.

Left Window (Shift)- "Shift while button is held"

Right Window (Mode) - "Shift state on until pressed again"

That did the trick, thank you sir! I guess I didnt grasp the difference between modifier & a switch.
