HOTAS WH DCS BS

Hey guys, I'm wondering if any of you have gotten the WH to work well with BS.

For me the default TARGET software profile, isn't adequate because it doesn't work the trim properly :-/

 

Really curious how YOU have gotten your WH to work. Mapped ingame? Made profile with target? Or just modified the existing profile? Also is there a way to set the Hotas slewstick to slew the Shkval (the same one u use in the a10??)

started doing one using target as WH beta3 was doing my head in. its coming along slowly but using the slew control on the throttle for the SHKVAL is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sensetive even when you alter the curves, i cant control it.

How did u even get it to work with the shkval

just assign the axis for "absolute shkval slew" i think its called. in options under the throttle column. the hog slew show up as JOY_X and JOY_Y

if you change the saturation (x and y) it works fine, around/under 20 is a good value.

i tried some settings, but its like coolts say, the stick seems to sensetive... even if i change the saturation to 10... locking a target when zoomed in is allmost impossible.

 

hm... looks like we got the same problem with the TM Warthog in BS like in the A-10C beta 1 with the to sensetive slew in the TGP... maybe this will be fixed after A-10C release.

Me to. The slew stick works fine in the A10 but if i try and use it in BS its way to sensitive. Thats with saturation at 10 and variying curvatures.

 

If i lower saturation below 10 it simply stop responding. Problem solved though by mapping the slew to the colie hat instead. Since the BS dont have alot of keys to really map to the joystick its not a problem. But would be nice if the ministick had worked instead like it do in the A10.

Looks like in A-10, ED have compensated for the crazy TM slew control somehow with extra damping. Or maybe their axis settings are different. i changed mine so i lost the defaults but i recall they were about saturation 10 but had a straight then diagonal "curve". not smooth.

 

can anyone confirm and replicate this setup in BS?

I use an analogue stick for the BlackShark shkval and I have found that a two setting curve is very good, I use the in game profiler and set users curves on then i have a very shallow cure for most of it, then a steep curve and the ends. so i can slew accurately but also pushing it right to the edge moves it fast.

Thats what i was thinking. The best of both worlds then. Get it to the area you want in a hury then accuratly tweak.

yes it is :cry: so i set the slew to use mouse, it is better but gotta have quick hands:music_whistling:

I started Black Shark and went to options/controls and individually mapped everything I wanted and I am amazed at how stable the black shark flies and hovers :cheer3nc:with this Hotas because there is no slop in the stick I guess.

I use to have the 568B Flight stick and the pro throttle hooked up and while I thought it was good I had no idea how lacking it was until I hooked the WH.

In time CH might get the Target software right so it works but for now :thumbdown: to many folks are having problems getting DCS sims to work with it. So I am not installing it.:no_sad:

You probably meant, TM, not CH. ;)

 

Anyway, I agree! My handling with the Shark is much better as well with the Hog, coming from an X52.

I am still working on proper assignments, though. Creating a good setup takes some time. My goal is to have the controls as close to the manual as possible while also retaining 'commonality' with A-10.

The analog Shkval axis controls have a built in 5% deadzone which makes the center position jumpy and hard to control. I have remedied this by using a user curve which starts from 5. It will counter the deadzone and make the center position very accurate and remove the jumpiness.

Has anyone managed to get the slew sensitivity down yet using the WH ministick?
