Tuna-Salad Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I installed the new patch beta 3 and it is not working, but I know why. I had installed the shader fix mod for nevada terrain but forgot to make backups. Since new beta 3 the nevada map is no longer there but the shader file is and is causing conflicts I think. If possible I need someone to upload and or post a place I can get the default shaders folder for beta 3. This would save me from having to download and reinstall the entire thing.
Blaze Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Hmm Beta III should have installed new shaders. I renamed my old ones with a "-" in front of them and they're still in there from Beta II and 2 new ones with newer dates are there now, I'm guessing from the Beta III install. Check again (Bazar\shaders\terrain\shaders31). The dates for the files from Beta III should be 11/13/2010, Beta II 10/29/2010. i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Frederf Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I installed Beta3 from Beta2 without undoing the Nevada shader fix first. Maybe it is some other reason. Did you install the Beta3 patch as administrator?
Blaze Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Does it give you an error message, pop up window, something that can help us find out what's wrong??? i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Tuna-Salad Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 No I did not. I AM the admin of the machine and this account is the pc admin. So should not have to run as. If the others worked and the program came off with a hitch it should be no different here. I've put all graphics to lowest settings. Um.. Just had to reinstall directx after beta 3 because of an ed terrain error. In task manager it shows dcs "not responding" after about 8 seconds or so after hitting "fly" from the launcher
ilikepie Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 the sim spends a bit of time compiling after you launch/hit fly, i get the same thing same as everyone else, let it do its thing, can take up to 10 min i read somewhere. patience grasshopper.....it should come right. check out the crash thread in the beta forum, lots of info about "things and stuff" in there Action After Contemplation
Blaze Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Yea first run of the Betas take forever to load, they're precaching, compiling, etc. Just be patient and after that first start all the rest will be quicker. ;) i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Tuna-Salad Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 The task manager shows it to be "not responding" after a few seconds. I will try again and wait.
Tuna-Salad Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 Ok.. waiting worked.. only took .... less than 2 min The FIRST time and reason I made the post took over 10 min. Thanks guys I look like a real jackass now.
Frederf Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 No worries, it should warn you that the first load is going to compile shaders and texture packages and such.
