Dave317 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) I've been looking at ff5 on youtube lately due to a couple of posts saying how good it is and it looks like you can fly loads of other planes. I've never even tried this sim and was just wondering how good it really is. Can you fly other planes with a decent cockpit (really miss DI's tornado). Also how do you install it? Do i need a copy of allied force or falcon 4.0 before i can install ff5? Edited November 28, 2010 by Dave317
Boberro Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Yes you can fly other planes, but you must remember it is mostly F-16 copy (in terms of avionics). Not all things can be changed. I fly here in Tornado: Cockpit 3D: And rest in 2D: Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Dave317 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Thanks. How do the terain and cockpit graphics compare with dcs? Tbh it looks a loittle dated.
Boberro Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Terrain is really ugly, 3D cockpits are ugly, 2D pits are hmm quite pretty. You can't compare graphics from Falcon to DCS. It is obvious DCS is miles ahead :) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
asparagin Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Also how do you install it? Do i need a copy of allied force or falcon 4.0 before i can install ff5? No you just need FF 5. But be aware that FF5 still has some bugs. If you want a stable Falcon go for AF. And as Boberro said, the extra planes in FF5 are just graphics, you fly the FM the made for F-16. skeemo Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 No that's wrong. The planes all have different flightmodels. They only share the avionics suite with the F16. But it is easy just not to use radar on the A10 e.g. so...
sobek Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 you fly the FM the made for F-16. That is WRONG. :) Most of the flyables in FF have different flight models, not all to the same fidelity, but they don't fly like the F-16. The MFD pages are the same, though. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
