Hi Guys

A mate and I were doing a MP mission the other night when he gor shot down, returning to the breifing room he entered a new aircraft again.

He wound when running through the startup routine that when spinning up the APU with APU start that the RPM dial would not no to 100 as per normal but stuck on about 60

I too have also experienced parts of the startup when entering a MP mission where I was unable to start the engines for no fault of my own.

I was wondering has anyone else experiences anything other issues or even those explained above.

thanks Mithandra

I had the APU thing happen once but it was pilot error.

I tried to start the engine before the APU was up and running at full speed. This action caused the APU to hang at the RPM it was at when I engaged the starter for the engine. Once I deselected the enginge start the APU ran up to normal RPM and all was well again. I wonder if that is what happened to your wingie.

Or perhaps the fuel pumps werent on and the APU stuck at starter RPM (ie no ignition). 60% sounds a bit high for that though.

The APU has its own fuel pump powered by the DC bus I think, so it doesn't need the other pumps.

I've got 99 problems but my Ekran ain't one

Interesting. I have had the APU hang on starter RPM before (although back in Beta 1) and I always thought it was because I forgot to turn the boost pumps on. I just went and tried it you are right, it doesnt need the engine boost pumps at all. I cant figure out how I managed to do that now.

Beta 1 required the boost pumps to be on for the APU to run. ED fixed that to make it more like the real aircraft that has its own DC power pump for the APU...ie no boost pump required.

That'll explain it, missed that one, thanks.
