Finally...Flaming Cliffs!!!

Hi guys,

 

Today morning, as usual I woke up thinking the CD would not be here. It was 2 weeks since the CD shipped..but no trace. I got sick of waking up and running to the post box and checking for the game.

 

Today I walk slowly and don't care if FC is here or not, I open the box and I see a brown COVER...pull it out FC...

 

lol! I was smiling all the way..go back home...clean up the computer...hook up my 5.1 surround sound... and install..

 

-- I start downloading the fixes.

-- I download the movie pack ...takes 4 hrs and I get disappointed to spot only 2 additional movies in the pack.

-- I run a few tracks at no AA and no AF at 1024 res and FC runs horribily...staggering along. averaging 12 fps.etc...(but bear in mind...IE was open and there was a download running too).

 

I install the fixes that finished downloading and I restart windows with the minimum servies, NO startup items..

 

I run FC with 4x AA, 4x af.. res 1124 .. performance is better ...played the quick start missions....OMG!! !sooo much smoother than 1.02...the mint green hud (thanx teka) is sooo realistic...OMG!!! its soo much better.

 

the Su 25T is sooo amazing.

 

BUT!!! Disappointment in sound department.,....THERE IS NO 5.1 SUPPORT... comeon ED...it would have been soo good ...pls release a patch with 5.1 sound support.

 

But FC DELIVERS TOTALLY...its a real treat.

Simware posted my CD out the day after they received their batch from ED the CD turned up the day after they told me they had sent it so I'm happy with the service I received from them.

Im still awaiting with the additional disavantage of having to be mailed a second time from north of the country where lives my friend who ordered a batch of 7 copies. I dont see my copy arrive but by end next week or the the one after. The waiting is painfull and theres hardly any people playing 1.02 online anymore... :(

you know what guys, the waiting makes it even more sweeter, trust me...you will be anticipating 1.1 soo much...with high expectations...and believe me IT DOES NOT LET YOU DOWN. :D

Also, what 'Fixes' are you talking about. I had not heard that there were any patches for FC 1.1 yet. Did I miss something?? :confused:

There were 2 fixes - one for on-line stuttering and the other for LOD tweaking to have smoother "pop-ups"

lol! well! thats actually my mom's sewing machine box. :p . I don't yet have stands for my speakers..so in the meanwhile anything will do :p

 

yeah! just as zoomboy wrote, there are two fixes and also a movie pack
