4c Hajduk Veljko Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Well, as the title says the Dual Core processors are getting into a retail lines (http://www.anandtech.com/news/shownews.aspx?i=24373). I certanly am planning to get me one for christmas. Of course, only if Flaming Clifs ver 1.2 will utilize all the power of dual core processors. This flight sim is mostly CPU limited and dual core processors would finally make it playable at high settings if the code is optimise to use it. Does anybody kows if Eagle Dynamics is planning to optimise the code for dual core processors? 169th_Dredd Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 FX55 will still reign king. I see know info yet how how any Intel dualcore will run in a gaming environment. Its benefits in multithreaded performance maybe, but not in a gaming environment.not for a few yrs anyway. Didnt you ever notice on games that green/black AMD symbol? ;) ---= 169th Panthers -Flt Lt.- =--- http://www.169thpanthers.com.au AMD64 S939 3700 | 2GB Corsair DDR500 | 21" CRT ATI Radeon X800Pro | 2x36GB WD Raptors | SB Audigy TIR3 | TM-868 | X52 | CH Pedals | Creative 5.1 Spkrs
coldcrew Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 There were announced a month ago but only avail for purchase maybe a day or two. Too bad AMD is going the intel way when it comes to pricing. Now that they are on top their prices are going higher. I heard the amd DC is almost 2x as expensive as an Intel DC (although the AMD dc seems to bench better)
snowdawg Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I might wait a bit to see what happens here Microsoft and the entertainment industry's holy grail of controlling copyright through the motherboard has moved a step closer with Intel Corp. now embedding digital rights management within in its latest dual-core processor Pentium D and accompanying 945 chipset.
