Dual core CPU's suck at gaming, So unless you want to render in 3ds, rip mp3's, play mp3's, have 34 internet exploer windows open, and compress files at the same time dual core is not worth it. For the top of the line Dual core you can get a FX-57 which is alot better for gaming. Rule is, don't buy dual core unless you are goign to multitask alot.

I must say barrel rolling around a missle is THE coolest way to avoid a missle. :) Try it against the CVN-70 when it launches a missle at you. Ask SE, he seen me barrel roll aroudn that missle, and it was the sweetest feeling I have ever gotten. I wish I had a video of that because it made me laugh for hours.

You have too much thrust to hover. Use less thrust. I held the 27 in the are for over a minute lol. It was great. Also make sure your perfectly plumb.

I am the last person to snicker. Believe me. I have a 32 MB Geforce 2 mx 200 ( worst of that whole line :() Back on topic. 2 GB of Ram isn't needed unless you really plan on running more than FC at the same time. 1 GB is fine but if you are willing to buy 2 GB go for it.

Those textures are twice as big as the 1024's and that means the area is 4 times as great. My frame rates dropped alot with the skin but I think it could be that they are no mip-maps or my computer just sucks ( which it does )

Go Radeon x800 and when the Cat 5.6 comes out you will be smoking. I must say something very similar happened to Silent Eagle a few weeks ago. Did your screen happen to look like this? He got lucky, Dell sent him a new Video card :) SIlentEagle said something about a capacitor being blown.

The Mod is only for FC. :( As to what the readme file says this helps by making the objects less polygons after 1 Km of distance. So the Ground Units would go from say 400 polygons to 4 once it reaches 1 Km. Now on a larger scale this is great because if you have 50 ground units then that could be 20,000 poly or 200. :) I think the Dev's should add at least 3 LOD's to all models which is possible. Sorry for drawn out post but meh.

Don't quote me but ... If you want better FPS then get a new CPU. If you upgrade your Video card you will only be able to turn your settings up but no significant increase in FPS. A CPU would be a better bet as you will get better FPS and can still keep graphic settings at a reasonable level. The reason for this is because the Video card makes everything look good such as AA or AF but the CPU makes it run smooth. Therefore go for a new CPU if you want better FPS.

Sounds "Uber" wasteful of CPU management. Maybe 1.2 will incorporate some more LOD's :)

I am wondering since I get a hit of FPS when many objects are out of view what kind of LOD do the models have in Lock On. How many LOD's are there? And how many polygons are in the models when they are very far away. Any help would relieve my Paranoia. :rolleyes:

Your main bottleneck is your 2.4 Ghz Processor. And you could go Radeon if you do want your Video card updated because of the 5.6 due out soon. If you think you got it bad I have a 2.4 Ghz P4 512 MB Ram and A 32 Mb Geforce 2 MX 200. :) :(

I think he means the Heading on the Hud and the compass don't match. I guess translation sites don't do good jobs for people who speak another language.

How about a thrust vectoring plane such as the Su-35 ;) I know it would be a challege for the design team but they could hone their skills on that bad boy.

I don't know if this was supposed to be like this but in the failure section ACS is spelled ASC.

Has anyone seen this demo? It is crazy and I need to know how they did it, can anyone help me? I tryed to disable the ACS like in the demo with no success.(BTW ACS is mispelled in the failure page. It is spelled "ASC") Is it possible to do this or has ED teased us?
