That thing can only come from ze germans :P

This things come from all over the world where country was intellectually capable to pay its engineers more than construction workers for the last 50 years. Germany, France, Japan, you name it. Also you can pretty much exclude all the countries liberated by the Soviet Union in the last century :music_whistling:

Amazing shapes that come out! Do you think the products are being directly used or the machine is used to make "master plates" and prototypes - since restricted to aluminum?

Spoiler

lol? Strange thread. Its a milling machine, not a warp drive. Common as muck. Or maybe I'm missing something?

The machine could perform with steels as well. At least I've never heard of such limitations for industry milling machines.

Yes, AFAIK there is no other process that compressors impellers are being made. Making parts of complicated shapes is always cheaper and easier with casting but you wouldn't get the strength that is achievable by machining a pre-forged (pressed) piece of metal.

Yes. The beauty! :smilewink:

Common? Try asking few non-techy people if they knew that such shapes can be achieved by machining. :)

^^ ah understood. For anyone that that is interested in these machines, or more specifically interested in getting stuff made by a CNC milling machine, you should be able to find and rent CNC time at an industrial workshop. You can even just submit CAD files and general specs and call around and have your stuff milled and ready to collect. It can be expensive though :)

It shouldn't be that expensive when you avoid requesting a 10 by 50 mm shaft from powerplant turbines repair facility ;)
