Hi,

Nope, i am not asking when its going to be released because i know the answer: as soon as it's done:thumbup:

Right now they sell the beta version. If i am right they the sim is patched up to beta 4. Beta 5 is somewere on its way and maybe beta 6, 7, 8 ect...who knows

Why not a full release of the sim as it is right now? The only possibility to buy it right now is via DCS which require a credit card. But its a release... Why not releasing it now on DVD via stores which can be paid with different payment systems? The majority of people that will buy the A-10 are already familiar with the developing of the sim and probably also own FC1 or 2 or BS. They know they buy a beta, which will be patched and patched. Seeing it from that point of view, every game that is released is a beta. Every game has bugs and need patches.

If they sell the beta on DVD in stores with different payment options its mine and i think a lot of people agree with me or think the same way.

Just a thought....

Without sollutions there aren't any problems

That comment wasnt really needed, whats the point in just a mindless pop at another company (especially one with customer support and community interaction on par with ED). Bad Form!

Back on topic, i see where the op is coming from but you have to see it from ED's point of view. I think alot of people are taking this beta too far. The fact is it was given to those who pre-ordered as a bonus. I appreciate that not everyone has a credit card, but at the end of the day its not a retail game yet, there is no requirement to provide other ways of distribution until the final product is ready to ship.

I keep saying to people who ask about A10, the game hasnt been released, but if you would like to pre-order the game. Then you are given the chance to help with the testing.

There is no good reason I know for any responsible adult to not be able to get a credit card.

Putting an unfinished product on the shelf is ludacris.

Just curious Mower.......... did you say "ludacris" with a Mike Tyson lispy accent?? lol

I agree with Mower and above. Putting out an unfinished product on DVD even if you called it a beta wouldl cause a major outcry and be damaging to the producer's rep.

The way A10 was sent out in beta actually worked very well imho.

Aye... I think ED ought to offer more payment options since some people dislike credit cards, whether rationally or irrationally... but selling a boxed copy of a beta is even more irrational than fearing credit cards. :D

A big problem is that the boxed copy would be out of date very quickly, probably even before it actually reached the store shelves. A better idea would be to do it in a "gift card" kind of way, so stores can sell the pre-order and in return you get a card with a code you can enter on the DCS site to magically obtain a serial number for the game.

But I think most of the people who have resisted getting a credit card so they can buy games online, wouldn't be happy buying a 'virtual' product in a store. They want a boxed copy with shiny plastic circles so they can pretend they "own" the product, but that doesn't work if the data pressed onto those circles is out of date by the time they get it home to install it!

Seriously? Your accusing me of insulting BI? I just stated a fact. I love BI but that's how they do it.

ED wont fire up the presses until they deem it ready, w/o any glaring bugs to speak of I can assure.

And taking my post out of context, and accusing me of wrong doing is extremely bad form sir.

You are excused.

BTW my above post is relevant to this topic. BI released both Armed assault, and ArmAII hard copy's as WIP's the very same way the OP wants DCSWH to be released. You see? Relevant.

Visa/Mastercard Debit cards work just as well for those who dislike credit cards.

I also agree with the notion that putting incomplete beta software on the shelves is not a good way of marketing a product. Perhaps pre-ordering and receiving a DVD Beta would be more agreeable.

I apologise if i read it the wrong way. But it sure looked like sarcastic jibe at BI. Why even bother to write something in the first place? Infact no, it doesnt matter, dont want another topic going astray.

it is not my intention to troll or post flame posts. It was just an idea that popped my mind. Probably its isnt a good idea to bring out a beta on DVD cause people will come back with anger about bugs that are known because its a beta but they forget...

So yeah, stupid thought, stupid idea. This threat can be locked before war breaks out:cry:.

You have a good point there Funkyjazz!

many games are released unfinished and they put out patches now and then. But i dont want to see A10C in stores before it's done

Just look at T34 vs Tiger one of the best tanksim ever and they got bankrupt.

I have to agree, putting it out unfinished may give the general public a bad taste and could possibly hurt ED in the long run. I mean even here with the sticky's and stuff about it being a beta when you pre-purchased the game, some folks got pissed because it would not work.

I love the fact we get to in some small way help a product mature, but that is just me. I really balk to think how these forums would blow up by some , how do I say, less then knowledgeable folks not understanding what they bought. As always my 2 cents.

The prevalance of the "insta-gratification" attitude would simply overwhelm too many people out there with no knowledge of nor patience for the developmental process of a complex simulation.

Not to mention a hefty investment in production & logistics.. Money you ain't getting back...

I dont know what you talking about, but i think you have a point there!
