MTFDarkEagle Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 How much RAM memory, and how much video memory do you have? If it's above 4gb in total, you need 64bit. (And I'll state the obvious: P4.. dayum :D ) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

Pyroflash Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) No, 64 bit is not needed, 32 bit can support up to 4096 MB of RAM, though Windows by default only allows you to use ~3GB(you can however change that to let you use 4GB by adding the LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE header in your boot.ini(look for some help articles on this if you are interested)). With 3 GB, I would not recommend you switch to windows 7 64 bit anyways, it is too much of a resource hog, and half your memory will be taxed by just idling your OS. And guys, don't dis the Pentium 4. I had a computer kicking a Pentium 4 right before I got my new laptop which was about 6 months before I built my new computer and my old one died after six years of use.
