The Ooom Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I have a problem where about 90% of missions won't load... Training, Mission editor, Quick start and the normal missions. They all end up crashing just before they are about to start. Anyone else got this problem? The missions that do load run well on my PC but would crash after about an hour or so into the mission. I get black buildings most of the time even with HDR unchecked. See attached pics for the error messages I get. HellMutt Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Do you have the June 2010 version of DirectX installed (it was included in Beta 4 Full Install, but you have to select it) ? Otherwise, could be a hardware problem. If you set Graphics to Medium or even Low, do you get an improvement in the number of missions that start ? If so, start at the lowest settings and then change settings one at a time until you have something acceptable. Also, make sure you run both DCS.exe and Launcher.exe as Administrator. The Ooom Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Thanks... yes, on Low settings, everything is working - but buildings still black. As I go higher, less and less are working. Got everything on High now, except scenes to medium and most missions are loading. Hope the final product would solve this, otherwise it is time for another expensive upgrade. I refuse to fly this masterpiece on low graphics. Nate, I cannot get access to your shortcut, - "no permission"
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Ahhh, you need access to the Open Beta Forum see here ---> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61793 This thread will eventually end up in there, so you need to get access. The Ooom Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 All I can say is "GIVE THAT MAN A BELL's !!!" Yes Nate, your DOS command works like an A10's GAU Gatlin gun! All my settings are back to high, all my missions are loading and no more black buildings! What a sight for sore eyes. Now, for the first time I can actually experience a night flight. Night missions just would not load before, not even if you created one in mission editor. For weeks I had to suffer, but no more. Is this setting permanent, or must I enter it every time when the PC was switched off ? Thanks again for saving me from an expensive PC upgrade.
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Fairly certain it's permanent, however the real fix is to move to a 64bit OS, if possible. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
636_Castle Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Someone posted those same errors a while back, and it turned out they didn't meet the minimum hardware specs. Have you tried reinstalling your video card drivers? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!
The Ooom Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 Yes, I've re-installed the latest graphic drivers. I think my Intel E7500 Core 2 duo 2.93Ghz processor can't cope and needs upgrading. I will have to look at an Intel Quad I5 processor, the I7 processors are just too expensive right now. At least Nate's magic DOS command keeps me in the air for now.

Another satisfied customer :D And yes, the bcdedit switch is permanent, but if you want to undo the command, enter the following into a DOS window: bcdedit /deletevalue increaseuserva but i don't think you'd want to do that :P Edited February 14, 2011 by Mustang
