Mik75 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Hi! Since I am practicing DCS Warthog quite intensively (for about 1 week now), I got an unknown problem from time to time: While flying, the led´s on the X 52 stick begin to flicker and any movement on the stick doesn´t have any effect in the sim anymore. Only thing I can do about it, is closing the sim, disconnecting and reconnecting the X 52. 5 minutes ago, the same happened again, but this time I didn´t close the sim, I just did the disconnect and reconnect thing with the throttle. Maybe 2 seconds later, my system shut down completely and I had to reboot manually. What could that be? Thanks in advance! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greets, Michael
BiPod Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I've also had this problem with my x52 and I have read of others with the same issue. The plugs connecting the two units my be loose causing the LEDs to flicker and the stick to fail. I can usually just reconnect without a problem. If your plugs are too loose may I suggest blu-tack or something else to hold the plugs in place. Of course, it may be a more serious problem, but I suspect that its just the cable. Hope this helps, BiPod.
Bucic Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Do the LEDs blink or give unstable light by any chance sometimes? If so, you're likely facing a connectivity problem. Most likely between the throttle unit and the stick. Next time when it happens instead of restarting/reconnecting try grabbing the connecting cable far from the plugs and lift it up, move around a bit and observe both - LEDs and the in-game effects of that. EinsteinEP Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Mik75, I had the exact same issue on my first X52 Pro. In addition, sometimes the axes would go hard over (full left/right or up/down) even when I wasn't touching the stick. I ended up tracing the issue to to the PCB connector on the stick. Luckily, it was within warranty, and they replaced my stick free of charge. Shoot to Kill. Play to Have Fun.
Mik75 Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Hmm, I´ll check the connection between the stick and the throttle next time the problem occurs. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greets, Michael
evilnate Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 The x52 has some strange issues... The problem I used to have was similar. When flying and pressing a button, the LEDs would flicker then the joystick center position would be where ever I had it when it flickered. I bought a powered USB hub and the problem doesn't happen nearly as often anymore.
