TAIPAN_ Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Anyone experience a small freeze every 30-60 seconds or so? I've tried it with various settings, and notice my GPU % usage cuts in half during the 1 second freeze. It's almost like the Graphics card stopped receiving data for a second. Any ideas on any particular nvidia or dcs settings could help? I doubt it is my system I have gtx 580, i7-2600k, 8gb ram, corsair c300 SSD to eliminate bottlenecks... Hasn't worked totally. Sinky Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Most people seem to be getting freezes and stutters when it loads new terrain areas. It's being discussed in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67803. hassata Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Worth checking if your graphics card has an auto-fan feature, or auto anything. I find those are best left off. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

StrongHarm Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 One trick I learned back as far as Blackshark is to help the software along on it's precache. Once in the sim, hit F11 to go to the airfield view. Spin your mouse so you take in the airfield, landscapes, and objects. You'll see a little stutter in the caching as you spin around. Hit F11 to view a different airfield and cache different textures. Once you hit three or four airfields you'll see that you turn smoothly and caching is no longer occurring. The more airfields you view the more texture you'll cache. I find that my memory utilization goes up about 15% after caching from airfield views. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
Geskes Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I recall there was a setting that allows you to set DCS to precache on loading? Not sure. I7920/12GBDDR3/ASUS P6T DELUXE V2/MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G /WIN 10 Ultimate/TM HOTAS WARTHOG
