Is there a setting which needs to be altered in the HUD when attempting to deploy these?

The weapon seems to be fixed exclusively to my steerpoint and not where the TGP is directed.

Is there a step or setting which I have missed?

I'm using the GBU-12 with an in flight mission.

You need to set your TGP as SOI and SPI. Ensure that you have auto-lase and lase time set in the weapon profile.

You can also use the TGP to create markpoints, and then switch your CDU to markpoint mode.

It's actually the SPI which happens to be the steerpoint by default. So you need to designate your target as SPI via TGP (TMS fwd long).

Not meaning to sound like an obtuse prick or anything but the tutorial missions are actually quite useful in explaining basic weapon deployment as are the numerous video tutorials on youtube. Just a friendly recommendation. You won't get too far without some understanding of SOI and SPI.
