rockyalexander Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The flickering was bad in the early betas, but wasn't really an issue in Beta4. Now it seems to have returned in the release version. The flickering of buildings is insane for me. Is it just me???? I'm running a Q9300 Quad with a ATI HD5770 1GB. 4 GB RAM. Vista 64 home Premium.
Invisibull Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I'm seeing it again too. i9 9900k - GTX 2080 Ti - MSI Z87 GD65 Mobo - 64GB HyperX Predator RGB DDR4 3200MHz - Win10 64 bit - TM Warthog w FSSB R3 mod - TrackIr 5.

rockyalexander Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Predominately it's the flickering triangles on buildings when you fly over urban areas. The same issue from the early betas.

Burner Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 turn off HDR and the tearing and flickering goes away for the most part except for flickering on the TAD page. rockyalexander Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) I don't use HDR. Have never had any flickering with the MFDS. How do I record a video with FRAPS? I've never done it before. Edited February 27, 2011 by rockyalexander
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I think you just set a hotkey in fraps and press it to record and press it to stop. Only do 5-10 seconds though as the videos do get quite large quickly. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Burner Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Wait........ what flickering on the TAD page? Nate on the tad page behind the green numbers there are black boxes (background) they constantly flicker and have since B4. Also the messages (white box) always is off to the right side and cannot be seen except for the first letter. genbrien Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I dont know if its known, but there is also the flickering of ground object in the TGP MFCD, depending of the zoom you use. rockyalexander Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Notice the 4-second stutter as well. Pretty typical.
rockyalexander Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Okay, was running visibility distance on LOW. Raising it to MED solved a whole plethora of problems for me, including the ground flickering (although the TGP flickers are now an issue), the guns not appearing in the Russian paratroopers hands while moving, and even stutters have been reduced (albeit slightly).
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Thanks I'll try to replicate. Could you provide the track from that video. Or rerecord a quick track for me? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
rockyalexander Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Yeah, Nate. I actually already posted the track in the "Object Errors" section. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1120180&postcount=3 Again though, the errors occur when visibility is set to LOW. miguelaco Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Well, I have a similar problem and dunno if it's related. I experience flickering on some textures, mainly on urban areas and trees. The effect was not as noticeable in beta 4 than the release version. I've been doing some tests with AA settings and have determined that flickering dissapears enabling super-sampling anti-aliasing and forcing AA via AMD CCC. Obviously, this is not bearable FPS wise even on my HD6950, but hope it could help to narrow the problem. I'll try to record two videos, one with the flickering and one without for you to see the difference. Also, if this is not the correct thread, let me know.
luckyluca Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I'm noticing flickering of far away chunk of hill and country textures, like squares that flicker reddish-brownish once in a while probably after a few mins in a mission, not very noticeable but still... I'm using 2xAA hardware (no AA ingame) and all settings to high except water to medium and heat blur disabled. Hdr is on. win7 64bit Simultools
rockyalexander Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 Still getting ugly flickers on destroyed objects, especially the black burned areas around destroyed buildings:(
