maxmax Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi, Been trying the first mission in the first campaign. I can contact jtac, no problem there. I just haven't figured out what to do with the info. I'm assuming that they are giving me targets to shoot. How do I use the info? In practical terms, that is. So far, I've added the code with letters and numbers into the cdu in mark mode. But then? If anyone has a good procedure to use and practice, it would be much appreciated! Also, I'm stilll wondering about the radio. If I set the bottom radio to the correct frequency 131 mhz, it starts squelching. screaming is actually more the word. So I use the upper radio and have to switch between 124 and 131.
awjudge Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 When JTAC sends you the 9-line, you acknowledge it and you should get a message come through on the MFD. On the TAD you should see a red triangle, that is your target. You can use the TAD to make the triangle your SPI, then slew Mavs or the TGP to it... However, have a look at this thread, there seems to be a problem with the JTAC in the first mission: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68548 Also, try setting up a mission from the mission generator, make sure JTAC works for you there.
maxmax Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Ok, so in theory very simple. This might be a silly question. But anyways, here goes. Assuming that jtac works as it should and I get the message on the mfd and get the red triangle, how do I make it my SPI and then slew tgp or mav to it?

Set the TAD as SOI using the Coolie Hat Clew the cursor to the triangle and hook it with TMS Forward Short Set the triangle as SPI with TMS Forward Long Slave everything to SPI with China Hat Forward Long You are now ready to acquire the target with the TGP or a Maverick (though the TGP is highly suggested as it features a better zoom).
