Mirtma Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Step by step. Make TAD as SOI and slew red triangle. Manual page 641: The easiest way to target the coordinate is to make the red triangle data link symbol on the TAD your SPI. You can also create a new waypoint using the coordinate and select it as a Mission point from the CDU. After receiving the point data, the JTAC will clear you to engage. GGTharos Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Nice catch. Reporting it now. "Well done soldier!" Just finished Devil's Cross today. JTAC always worked for me. His coordinates were on, his red diamond was on. His BDA seemed off to me based on the results screen. (JTAC would always sell me short on kills.) The problem with the mission is: The weather--made my FPS pretty low. Viziani Airbase--also made my FPS slow (but better since the patch). And the wingmen who usually decided to stay in the hangar. Score on this mission seemed mostly based on successful check-in and check-out with JTAC. Oh yes and about datalink. First, it has nothing to do with JTAC. 2nd it seems to work if you accept the mission (and just 2 AGMs and no TGP) WITHOUT using the mission planner screen. Everytime I modified the loadout with that screen my EPLRS would reset to ID0 and Group0. Usually I could never find the Group ID my wingy was using. However, the 2 times I skipped the mission planner screen I had the other members of my flight on the TAD (remaining in the hangar of course). vincentb Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Nice catch. Reporting it now. For me, nothing helps. Everytime i play devils cross I can't get a red marker. I do see my wingman on the datalink, i just don't get the data. I also don't get it in other missions. Changing my group ID doesn't help. In addition, accepting the mission without going into the planner also does nothing. The latest patch has been applied though.
winz Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 What works for me is setting my groupID to 01 just after switching egi to nav after it is fully aligned. And then recheking it (and reseting to 01 if necessary) just after all flight took off. The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3

vincentb Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Please post a track. Here is an example: i set the net and group id to 1. It was a rampstart mission. Still, no red triangle.no_data.trk
Mule Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Well just to add and i don't know if this helps but.....i used to have the same problems with jtac not giving me the red triangle etc. After contacting jtac and using Warriorx's UTM coordinates tutorial Jtac now gives me the red triangle in all missions. It's like a double confirmation. I input the coordinates and then work out where he wants me (quick at this now) and then data is sent on top of that which just confirms everything anyway. When i am ramp starting i ask ground to re arm me with a few more mavs and a targeting pod which is obviously a great help. The only problem is i rifle off all my mavs on different targets with no problem at all but have got smoked by a sam on the way home on 2 occations. Not bothered about that beacause now i have red triangles :) Fighter Pilot Podcast.
