jeffyd123
I recently got a 5770 Radeon and was looking at the specs of it and my 4890 that Im currently using.... the memory and GPU speeds are very similar. Im wondering if there would be a worthwhile performance gain by switching cards... otherwise Ill sell the 5770 and save up for a NVidia card (im thinking of trying 3D out) thanks for your input i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
Mugenjin
4890 is faster than the 5770 or atleast on par. So you should sell it. The 5770 is too slow for dx11 anyway and only advantages over 4890 is lower power consumption and possibly not as noisy.
KaspeR32
I can't speak to the comparison of the 4890 but I own a 5770 1g ATI and things run really well for me. If I were you though, and the 4890 is playable, maybe save up and get a Nvidia 560ti I've heard really good things about that card. P.S. What's your CPU? wtfisgoingon
I have 2 5770's, however I found using just 1 works much better in this sim. I'm able to use all high settings, msaa 4x, hdr on, 1920x1200 and get constant 50+ fps in most situations. I have quite a few newish games that I get very good fps with very high settings: Aliens vs Predator Batman: Arkham Aslyum Bioshock 1 & 2 Dead Space 1 & 2 Mass Effect 2 Metro 2033 Chronicles of Riddick Fallout: New Vegas Edited March 16, 2011 by wtfisgoingon i7-920 @3.8Ghz / MSI X58m / 8GB DDR3 / 2 x HD5770 / Asus-vw226h @1920x1200 / 2x OCZ Vertex 2 80GB SSD's / Win 7-64 / TrackIR 5 / Saitek x52 / Razer BlackWidow Mech Keyboard / Razer Deathadder Stuttering or fps problems?
