Sel94 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I am going to make a profile for my X-52 using the SST, but first I have a question. Since I'm using the SST, I am going to clear all of the joystick assignments in A-10 so I'm not pressing two things at once(is this the best way to do it?) So I was wondering if there was a file a good back up so if I ever needed the default assignments, I would have them. Also, if there is a better way to do this, please tell me. Thanks.
Sarge55 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Make a back up of this folder; X:\DCS A-10C\Config\Input\Aircrafts X=what ever drive you installed in. Do not clear the keyboard column (not saying you were but I read where someone did once). I did use the X-52Pro before and I programmed in game but some like the SST. However I think it is best to always program your axis controls in game. Lots of good samples in the forums to use for getting some good ideas. rud Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 you do not need to clear the joystick commands in game if you use the SST profiler. Once you've set a button on the X-52 to perform a keyboard command it stops sending the joystick button itself through.
Sel94 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 Thanks for the help guys. I'm having a little trouble here though. I want to make a button do 3 things without using the 3 different modes. I was planning to make button A and clutch something like a shift and alt, but I'm having trouble doing that in the SST. Basically, I have my throttle hat left as H, for Coolie Hat left, but I would like clutch+throttle hat left as Delete for DMS left, and button A+throttle hat left 9, for CMS left. Is it possible to do this or would I have to change the key assignments in A-10 so clutch would be shift, A would be alt, then make DMS and CMS shift+H and alt+H? And in that case, backup the file that Sarge said? Thanks.

I need something to map for my speak button for teamspeak. Thanks. Edit: Oops sorry, this was supposed to be an edit.
Sarge55 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) IIRC in order to make the clutch button function as a button instead of the clutch you have to go into the properties and select or deselect a tick a box. I forget which page. Regarding assigning a button for PTT just pick one on the stick or throttle and assign it in Teamspeak. Or, are you planning to use the keyboard for PTT? I wouldn't recommend it. Do a search for two guys, Strongharm or SFJackBauer both of them made some excellent X-52Pro profiles which I'm sure they have tweaked along the way that may help you set yours up. EtherealN Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Attached is something you might be able to work with - it's my old X52 profile. I think it should work for the Pro as well. Sel94 Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks for the help guys, I've got everything the way I want it except for one problem. I set the little mouse stick on the throttle to a directional axis, and gave each direction a slewing key(. , / ;) but when I try slewing in A-10, nothing happens. Does anybody know what I need to do to fix this? Thanks.
Sarge55 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I think you have to assign it as an axis IIRC. I don't think it's like a hat. Try setting it up in game, HOTAS slew horizontal and vertical.
