'a page from the same book' meaning something similar happened to him. It's bad form and very disrespectful to doubt someones service to their country. Us old vets do like to tell stories and embellish a bit, but to tell someone else's story like it happened to you is dishonorable. To say that someone has that level of dishonor is a slap in the face.

I myself could tell you some stories that would curl your toes and make you scream BS ten times.

That said; thanks for the insight blackheart2502, and thank you for your military service and the sacrifice it required.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

That's why JDAMs were invented in the first place (AFAIK).

A little off-topic, but in Afghanistan we used GBU-38s for most targets. While they are useless as hell if the target is moving, they can be set to air-burst making them far more effective against soft targets. GBU-12s, best for moving targets, are also impact-only and have far reduced effectiveness against Talibs.

Those are my experiences from Iraq, not a passage from the book I mentioned.

I hope I didn't come across as doubting your story, blackheart. I just understood your post like it was a quote from the book. No disrespect intended.

blackheart, may I reinstate my sincere praise for your writing and thanks for your service. Obviously I was misled and my first impression of your post was the correct one.

Ok, I can confirm that blind bombing with LGB and JTAC assistance works.

It's pretty cool. I don't have to use the TGP at all, and can stay above the overcast, launch the LGB, once it gets through clouds, the JTAC laser guides it to target.

This is cool. Question? Don't you have to switch via the TGP to LSS? Or, did you just make the laser on call, then after having set the data link from the JTAC to SPI you just guided on that blind till release of the weapon?

And now we have GBU-54's...so no worries on the decision making. :smilewink:

The idea is not to use your own laser and TGP (because of cloud layer).

So , when you get the data from JTAC, you make it SPI through TAD. At this point you can launch your LGB in CCRP mode, but it will only act like a dumb bomb. (Make sure auto-laser is off in your profile). Then when near the drop, ask the JTAC to lase your target, then you're good to go.

I added also a small mission for practice. ;)
