TimA Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hmm, very tempting! The only reason I've not bought one so far, is that I currently have no room for rudder pedals (using an X-52 at the moment). Considering I'll almost certainly be buying rudder pedals in the future, would it be worth getting the Warthog now? I know some people have mentioned using the throttle friction lever on the throttle unit of the Warthog for rudder control. Does this work well? I think it'd be a shame for me to buy one and not enjoy using it, because I don't have decent rudder control yet. Any thoughts very welcome.
Steel Jaw Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 It aint that cheap, hardly a bargain at all. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.
DanKurt Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 They are always 280 quid on AmazonUK! I do believe they dropped to below the 200 mark a few months back but not seen that price again.

topdog Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Same price (~280) at overclockers.co.uk too. It's a better place than the 320-330 they came out at, but not quite the radical crazy discount they had for a brief while either. I would certainly warrant buying the HOTAS before getting rudder pedals. I think a good HOTAS has priority over rudder pedals. But you probably mean you already have a HOTAS and maybe it would be better to focus on getting good pedals first? That's a choice, but if you want the WH in any case, I would first go for that instead of pedals. I don't think the lever on the throttle would be very practical for controlling rudder movement, other than in flight fixed rudder input. More like a trim function of the rudder if you will. But you can do without proper rudder control in the Hog, IMO.
