ESzczesniak Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I'm using the latest TrackIR software and the 64-bit DCS A-10C. I'm unable to select any radio command or view option that requires pressing F7, F9 or F12. I have already made a custom DCS profile in TrackIR remapping the precision, center and pause commands to the arrow keys (which oddly enough I don't use in the sim with my nice TM Warthog). However, even after doing this and assigning the new profile, I'm unable to get any use out of F7, F9, or F12 in the game still. The new arrow keys I assigned to TrackIR function for their given roles. Anyone have suggestions? Is there a hidden profile assignment somewhere that I'm missing? I had a similar problem in beta 4, but after reassigning the keys everything worked as advertised. Seems that's no longer the case.
Ptroinks Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I have exactly the same problem! Can't use F7, F9 or F12 when I'm using TrackIR. I've got a custom TrackIR profile as well (remapping those key commands). The only time it goes away, is if I shut down the TrackIR software... I hope there's a fix for this somewhere... Cibit Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Hi, I have read about this and I believe you need to manually edit a config in tr if root to get those keys back. Hope this points you in right direction. Exbird Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 this problem was eliminated with Natural Point 5.1.200 but i always look ingame for a free key or button and use this for center trackIR - the rest i Disable - never need it

Try checking the box that says "Exclusive"...This will load the profile you choose every time you start TIR. This means you loose the dynamic switching from one game profile to the next automatically, but it keeps your chosen profile's parameters loaded. Ptroinks Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I read about running TrackIR as administrator, and for me that doesn't help. I have the latest drivers (didn't find any newer drivers than 5.1), and I'm using keys that are not used in the game. And if I map a key to a TrackIR command, that key can't be used for anything else in windows! I just mapped the keys 4, 5 and 6 on the keypad to TrackIR commands, and now, nothing happens if I press those keys (I have to use the "regular" number keys). This is strange... edit: I'm also running my profile as exclusive... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WarriorX Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 There are 3 checkboxes for each command in a profile. One of the checkboxes reads "Trap". This will "trap" the key so that it will only respond for TrackIR. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" This will "trap" the key so that it will only respond for TrackIR. It's already set to "trap"... I've tried checking/unchecking all the boxes (on all the commands). Nothing works, except when unchecking the "enable" box :). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ptroinks Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I don't know how many :doh:s I should put in this post to accurately show how I feel right now. Of course it's the "trap" check box! UNchecking the "trap" box solved all the issues! Thanks, WarriorX! At first, I thought you meant that having the box checked should solve the issue (don't ask me how I managed to interpret it that way).:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
S77th-konkussion Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Well- changing the centering key from the default f12 to something useless DCS-wise like Number pad 5 would solve it. Then checking the trap box would keep DCS from centering independently of your track ir. Clearing the function from DCS is also a good idea. ClearDark Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I had this issue before. Go into DCS A-10 Control mappings and clear ALL commands assigned to your TrackIR device. This will fix it.
