DarkFire Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) I'll apologise in advance if anyone has posted on this topic before. I'm using the latest patched version of Black Shark on Windows 7 64-bit. I have an X-52 Pro HOTAS setup but grew to dislike the rotation on the stick as a rudder axis. I now have a set of CH rudder pedals. I'm using the game in "sim" mode. In the options screen I see the X-52 and the CH Pedals listed as available input devices, so the game has detected the pedals. However, none of the aircraft control axes are mapped to the pedals. When I try to map the rudder axis to the pedals, I click on the relevant axis, click on the relevant 'box' on the option screen... And nothing happens. Is there a way to disable the rotation axis on the X-52 so that the game won't recognise it? It looks like the game is refusing to recognise that I want to use the pedals instead of the rotation axis on the stick. Any thoughts? Total Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I have the same set up. Make sure you have the latest drivers loaded for the pedals. To map the axis to the CH Pedals, you have to click the box for that axis in the CH Pedals column in the options, not the X52 column. Then move the axis on the CH Pedals you want. Don't forget to unmap that axis from the X52 by selecting the box in the X52 column and clearing it out. I have my rudder axis on the pedals and my wheel brakes as well. If you play ArmA2, the pedals are also great for use with land vehicles for gas and brake ;) 1
DarkFire Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks for the tips. I tried mapping the axis on the pedals. When I click on the axis box & move the pedals nothing happens :( I know the pedals are working because I can see them functioning correctly using the CH software. I can successfuly un-map the rudder axis from the X-52, it just won't seem to map to the peddals. Is there any point in deleting my control.lua file (or whatever it's called) to return everything to the default values? 531-Ghost Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 For the ProPedals, are you running them through a "map" in Control Manager? Has Windows seen the pedals? You may have to go into Control Manager and re-scan for the pedals. :joystick:
DarkFire Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 I have the CH manager software installed but I'm not running them through a map. They are listed as a game controler in Control Panel. DarkFire Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 OK, I got this sorted out eventually. I should have listened to the information sheet that came with the pedals really. I uninstalled the mapping software that came with the pedals, did a hardware re-start, and now I'm good to go. FC2, Ka-50 and A-10 all recognise my pedals properly. Thanks for the tips everyone, much appreciated.
