this would be for using the TGP but really any sensor can be used to send datalinks as long is it's specified as the SPI.

1. Set TGP as SPI

2. select TAD as SOI

3. Select/hook the plane you wish to datalink to.

4. Under osb 19 I believe you should see a send button. Click that to send your SPI as a new tasking to the aircraft you have selected.

This is currently broken, I believe. The sent data point is deep underground. Still need to do more testing on it.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Just one question:

How do I do that? By using the one of the OSB buttons in MFD or?

When the TAD cursor is over the plane just TMS up short to HOOK.

It might be I haven't used it much since the new patch. Even so it still gives you a quick marker on TAD and you can slew your TGP to it quicker than having to manually enter coords in the CDU and such.

That's a "lock" button? Which plane, mine or wingman? :D

Page 319 of manual

Assuming you've already set your SPI with some sensor:

Set TAD as SOI

Slew cursor over wingman's plane

TMS short forward to actively hook it. You'll know you've done this as the HUD changes to show a pair of dashed lines to the hooked ship.

One of the right side OSBs will say send and display the plane's net ID. Press send to give the tasking.

You do not need to be broadcasting your SPI

^^Ok. thanks, I think I got it.

Tried this in a Quick Mission (with AI wingman) and it really doesn't seem hard at all.

It isn't! The TAD and CDU stuff seems really daunting, and the organization of the manual doesn't really help, but it's not that hard at all.

Is there a way to use the cursor in the TAD to set a point on the map as your SPI? Just an empty point on the map that say, you suspect there might be a target? I was trying this using the TMS up long yesterday, but it didn't do anything.

Set a markpoint with the cursor, then set the markpoint as SPI.
