mig29movt Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Great News from MAKS 2011: http://www.aviasalon.com/en/news/item/news_id-173.htm What's nicer then MiGs and Tupolevs standing next to F-16s and B-52s? :cheer3nc: Friday (19th) till Sunday (21st) are the public visitor days. I recommend Friday, there are not that much people and in the evening it's pretty easy to get closer to the planes. (and helos of course) BTW: the largest influx of visitors occurred on Saturday when more than 180 thousand people visited the event. in (2009) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Waiting to build a F/A-18C home-pit... ex - Swiss Air Force Pilatus PC-21 Ground Crew SFM? mikoyan Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I wonder if there is a package for people coming from the states? How much would that be?
Thor77 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I've read a RIA/NOVOSTI article a couple of months ago that both prototypes will be displayed in static and flying display. and why shouldn't it be flying? It was 15th or so test flight when it was already displayed to Putin ;) But I do expect, if it will fly, a limited performance display, similar to Su-35BM in 2009. I am not sure why do you think it would not land at Zhuk? Both prototypes are now being tested at Zhuk. I am not too thrilled about USAF presence to be honest - They had F-15s, KC-135, C-17 and B-52 on display at 2007 airshow and they were the only aircraft guarded with Kalashnikov armed guards, while ironic as may it seems, all the latest Sukhois and MiGs didn't have the guards. And while I leaned over the fence to have a better angle to shoot the B-52, one of the US crew members almost punched me for "trespassing"... On the other hand, while I was at NAS Oceana airshow in 2005, the crew let me climb into the cockpit of a B-52H. Vekkinho, sure no prob. LARGE Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 im going to me in Saint Petersburg in July. When is the air show and does any one have an idea how much a train ticket to Moscow would cost?

I guess you have seen one of each. Some folks in the military do get "over protective". I can remember years ago at an airshow in the UK, I was taking a photo of a US Army AH-64 helicopter that had come over from Germany. A man and his young teenage son were stood next to me. The boy was pointing to the ALQ-144 "disco ball" IR jammer and asking his Dad what that shiny thing was. The guy asked the US Army pilot who replied that he was sorry but it was top secret and he couldn't talk about it. I knew this was rubbish. So I explained to the man what it was and how it worked against early generation rotating reticle IR missiles like the SA-7 (9K32 Strela). The Army pilot listened to my explanation and was clearly annoyed. What an idiot, the information was all available in the public domain (where I'd read it) and no secret. GGTharos Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 He might not know this, and even if he does he might be required to keep his mouth shut out of an abundance of caution. That's how secret clearances work - you don't talk about stuff unless you see it's UNCLASS. You do not deny/confirm what's in the 'public domain', you just STFU. Don't blame them, if they let something slip by accident they could get drummed out. The Army pilot listened to my explanation and was clearly annoyed. Thor77 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 yeah I know that... I've seen many things happen so far, yet that was the rudest things happened to me. Regarding my stance towards US presence at MAKS - yeah it's kind of cool to see US fighters at Zhuk but, you can see them at major Euro shows as well, while all the newest Sukhois and MiGs are pretty much domain of the MAKS. I been at the great GA air show; and most all the pilots were very polite; but the nicest pilot were the c-130 pilots; I don't know if it is the fighter pilot factor; but they didn't have the same air of: " I'm cool" anyway they have the coolest jobs so I can't complain; but the c-130 guys were very very communicative; I still think that without those guys other cool fighters would not get to the air. Here kids get into the uh-60s and mess around with every single switch in the cockpit; I wonder what kind of revision is necessary after each air show. No word in how much will cost to go there from the US?

Antartis Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Google translate MAX promises to "premiere" Some features of the upcoming 10 th anniversary of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2011, which will be held from 16 to 21 August at Zhukovsky outside Moscow told the Director General of "Airshow" Vladimir Borisov in the magazine interview Aviapanorama "№ 2-2011 (No premiere MAX will not do "). In particular, he noted that this year visitors are expected interior displays of new technology, as well as several other new products ... In a press release following the meeting of March 22 this year The organizing committee of the MAKS-2011 is no information on the inclusion of a domestic fighter newest 5-th generation. What is today considered the presence of PAK-FA in the exhibition MAKS-2011 and in its flight program? What modern aircraft has already claimed as exhibits MAKS-2011? Machinery associated with the defense of the country, has a certain status. There is such a thing as a "list of number 1" - those objects that are permitted by the Government and the Ministry of Defence to be exhibited in an exhibition samples. What is classified as secret, the list is not included. Secrecy can be removed partially. To show, for example, PAK FA, it is necessary to make a large amount of technical and organizational work - how to show it on static display in the air, not to uncover some elements of our know-how? The leaders of this program is the desire to show it is serious work to harmonize its demonstration. Successful if the end of this work, to speak prematurely. The importance of flight software can not be overstated. http://www.arms-expo.ru/049051124050051049051057.html :( Asus Prime Z-370-A Intel core I7-8700K 3.70Ghz Ram g.skill f4-3200c16d 32gb Evga rtx 2070 Ssd samgung 960 evo m.2 500gb Syria, Nevada, Persian Gulf, Normandy 1944 Combined Arms A-10C, Mirage-2000C, F-16C, FC3 Spitfire LF Mk.
