darrenkarp Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Hi all, Is it possible for the autopilot to guide me to a waypoint? If so, what do I need to do? Thanks Darren

Chris CDN Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Autopilot is only good for straight and level (ALT HDG), Altitude hold where you can maintain a certain degree of bank, but will remain at a constant altitude (ALT) and Path mode, which will allow you to hold wings level, but at a constant pitch (nose up or nose down. PATH mode). There is no waypoint following mode, speed control, etc. NSDQ
bluepilot76 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Path mode will actuallly hold the pitch and bank that you have so is useful for setting up an orbit whilst yours heads down. redtail Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 yeah ALT mode is very handy! I love setting up an orbit til I get things figured out with JTAC or whatever. As far as the Autopilot flying me to a waypoint, I'm glad it don't, I'd rather do that myself. ~Redtail~ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
bluepilot76 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 woops yeah sorry, ALT mode is good for an orbit, whereas the PATH mode will maintain a nice descent or climb etc, at least untill you run out of altitude or speed that is.
