I just wanted to check in to see if this was normal or possibly a bug.

I have noticed several times during missions that one or more of my wingmen after getting shot down/bailing out etc will still have his aircraft's SADL symbol on the TAD. I don't know if this is supposed to be like this. Part of me thinks that this is a bug in that it should be disappear when the plane goes down, but part of me thinks that maybe there is a transceiver that may be attached to the pilot when he bails and would be useful in for locating the pilot for possible SAR.

Any ideas?

Okie dokie. Was just wondering because I thought (my memory may not be correct) that it didn't happen all of the time.

Set up an A-10C as AFAC with waypoints long in to enemy teritory, tune in on he's frequency and listen to him calling for a rescue mission (CSAR) when going down :D. Very funny!

The TAD symbol is still displayed simply because its position hasn't been updated since the JTRS on the aircraft stopped working. The same would happen if you just turned it off midflight. Everyone would see your position un-updated until it timed out.

This gives me an idea for a rescue mission. If you script one where a wingman gets shot down ( not difficult if you ask him to engage AAA on his own) and then set up some conditions that simulate a Tacbee or something similar. Activate a rescue helo, from that flag and then its up to you to do a RESCAP! Flag some ground troops to advance into the zone and its game on!:smilewink:

Just getting to know the advanced mission editor ( much more powerful than BS) Its a mighty feature for sure! So much to learn:thumbup:
