Teriander Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Im not sure the correct way to do this... I've been marking positions that are called out by JTAC (example: MM234765) by selecting a random waypoint like Waypoint 5 > ON CDU set STEER PT > WAYPOINT > Switching from L/L to (the other options forgot the name) > Entering in the keypad MM234765 >update the waypoint.... So now Waypoint 5 is the location JTAC wants me to focus on. Is this correct procedure? I think it would be better if I created a MARKER at the position so I dont screw up any preplanned waypoints, but Im not exactly sure how to do it. The Manual really doesn't explain how to setup Markers. Any suggestions?
Sinky Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 In the waypoint page there should be a number with a funny circle symbol to the left of it, press that and it will create a new waypoint for you to edit. I do this once then I edit the same waypoint for each new target from JTAC. Frostiken Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Markpoints are considered a sort of scratchpad, and aren't really to be used for any long-term use. When a pilot is sort of 'making notes' he'll use markpoints, when he wants to give it some permanence he'll convert them to waypoints. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Far as I've seen there isn't one so you have to use waypoints. Can't you do this by editing the coordinates of a mark point from the WAYPT page?
