msalama Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 ...that is for sure and that will never change. Correctamundo, my man. Back in the day playing IL-2 online there were certain a$$hats who used all kinds of flaps-on-a-slider and printscreen-pressing (which slows the game down) nonsense to win, and later on a certain well-known squad was caught using a god-eye radar showing all active units in a mission! So yah, cheating arsholes abound whenever and wherever they get a chance - and that unfortunately holds true as regards combat simming as well  1 The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
SUBS17 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Approved Mods? Are you serious? Kind of like ACE for Arma it has to meet certain minimum requirements to be added to the updater list. It would also have anti-cheating stuff like Arma. 1 [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Modding, whatever changing textures or making flyable Kuznetzov is not a problem until it is being played on server where such mods are forbidden. Speaking about global modding forbid possibility is pointless in this situation. Everything is being made by people and used by people. 1 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
ZQuickSilverZ Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) SUBS17 although I have not played ARMA I have encountered a similar system (I believe) to what your suggesting. That system is the one that RFactor uses. I don't play RFactor anymore because I got tired of downloading MODS for every single server I wanted to race on. I spent more time downloading than racing. If we allowed open modding you would be downloading all the time just to join a map. Does that sound appealing to anyone? It certainly does NOT sound appealing to me. ED I implore you don't ever open this Pandora's Box. Your work is art don't let anyone paint a mustache on it. Also I noted that you made a post on 5/19/2011 stating "Looks awesome, I'm still a noob at Arma2 so this is interesting. " So I have to ask is this ACE mod for ARMA or ARMAII? Edited May 21, 2011 by ZQuickSilverZ I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original. "Off with his job" Mr Burns on the Simpsons. "I've seen steering wheels / arcade sticks / flight sticks for over a hundred dollars; why be surprised at a 150 dollar item that includes the complexities of this controller?! It has BLINKY LIGHTS!!" author unknown. These titles are listed in the chronological order I purchased them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close

Its Arma2 that the updater is for and the reason its such a big deal is that it greatly simplified the process of updating Arma 2 and adding mods. I use Arma 1 all the time and the mods that I use include ACE which adds realistic features to Arma and its weapons(kind of like DCS for a FPS only its a mod). I was amazed when I got the Arma and checked out all the mods. Which included addon tanks, weapons and maps. As it is with DCS/LO there is no SDK so at this stage we are quite limited as to what could be added to LO/DCS but look at the work people are making for DCS/LO. And http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73864 With an SDK anything is possible so an ACE like mod would be ideal all the best vehicles/mods in one pack and an updater for addtional addons. They won't be making so many mods you have to update all the time but having them all in one place is the best way to go. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
