Ozz13 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Is this the official forum for FC 2? If so, why are there only about 3 non-stickied topics? Is the game dead.. or ..? I was thinking about picking this up. I want some Air to Air to go along with my Warthog action and I've been thinking about reinstalling Falcon 4.0 or getting FC 2. I'm tore. I found 2 squadrons I'm interested in trying to join. One plays A10-c & Falcon the other A10-c and FC 2. Anyone have Falcon 4.0 experience that can lend an opinion on FC 2? Also, I need to buy FC 1 and FC 2 in order to get FC 2 running, correct?
159th_Viper Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Also, I need to buy FC 1 and FC 2 in order to get FC 2 running, correct? No - you need LockOn Modern Air Combat installed prior to installing Flaming Cliffs 2. Once FC2 installed, you can then uninstall LOMAC. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Cali Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Is this the official forum for FC 2? If so, why are there only about 3 non-stickied topics? Is the game dead.. or ..? Yes these are the official forums. The game is not dead, many people still fly it. These forums have been up since lock on started sometime in 2003 (I think) I was thinking about picking this up. I want some Air to Air to go along with my Warthog action and I've been thinking about reinstalling Falcon 4.0 or getting FC 2. I'm tore. I'm a big FC2 fan, the graphics are great, that is one thing that stopped me from flying Falcon. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

Maybe you have selected only to show threads in the last week or so... setting is down the bottom of your page. Edited May 14, 2011 by RIPTIDE 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ozz13 Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Maybe you have selected only to show threads in the last week or so... setting is down the bottom of your page. Ah.. that's it, thanks. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll give FC 2 a whirl. I can always go back to Falcon if needed but doesn't sound like that will be needed
durka-durka Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Thanks for the display tips. I was wondering if this was dead also. I just got FC2 a few weeks ago, and gotta say that I really enjoy it. I heard the term "air quaker" recently and really have to wonder at that. Anyone willing to go through all the stuff to learn this game doesn't seem like that to me, but it's the internet, anything can happen I guess. 492nd Squadron CO (F-15E): JTF-111 - Discord Link
Exorcet Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 FC2 does have a lot of air quake in public servers. It's for a lot of reasons, not all of them are the fault of the players. That said, there are times when teams work together and act like teams. It's a lot more fun and a lot more realistic. Not to mention you'll probably die less. If you're flying in a squad, I'd imagine you would get a lot more of the latter type of flying. On the original topic, I play Falcon, but I never got to try it online. It's a lot more like DCS than FC2 is in terms of realism, but I enjoy FC2 a lot. If you want max realism all the time, go with DCS + Falcon.
