This was a test mission, that formed into a sort-of race. The objective is to ferry an unarmed A-10C from one airport to another through the mountains. Fly as low as you can, and weave through the valleys and ravines to avoid being detected by the numerous SAMs. Only problem is that the valley you fly through is littered with AAA guns. Just keep the speed up, and eyes open.

 

I have tried many times, and even though I made the thing it is still very hard to beat. Once you clear the "final ridge" (youll know what one I am talking about ;) ) the race is pretty much over.

 

If you want even more of a challenge, switch all the guns into something a bit more challenging (MANPADs maybe?)

Good Training for Terrain Masking. Survived my first Run (3 Times i saw AAA Tracers and somewhere in the Mountains a TOR fired two 9M330´s at me. :joystick:

I could have swore I saw something in the sky. UFOs? I guess I gotta keep trying to figure it out lol great job btw !

Great mission!

 

My first attempt failed miserably after one AAA (between waypoint 5 and 6 I think) got lucky and hit my left engine after which my speed was reduced to about 200kts. :censored:

 

Had a hard time getting over the mountain and eventually stalled and crashed on the mountainside.:joystick:

 

Second attempt was better. Still got shot and lost my left wingtip and with that several sensors. I had to do a landing without any speed indication. Still managed to safely land the aircraft though.

 

Good mission to see what fails when something gets shot up. :thumbup:

Have adapted it to have a 3 way MP race along the valley, will try out tomorrow night with team mates

I've attached the two missions we were flying with.

 

The first is the Vaziani Pipeline mission similar to Spitfire's original, but with a little twist.

 

The second is the air race mission which is great fun in MP.

 

I'm not able to change the pilot names for now as away from my pc but you can easily change them I'm sure.

Thanks Spitfire, I updated the mission and added a few things for multiplayer and posted up as an intelligence gathering mission. VRA Rustavi Pipeline.

 

Again great mission and idea, and try out the VRA team race one, that is a blast with 4 aircraft all starting same time and racing to get in the air and down the course lol
