Wanted to know if anyone else has problems reviewing .trk files? Basically, I review a track file and it seems the plane I was flying starts taking different actions than what happened in game. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Ranger79,

The behavior that you describe is normal for the replay of a trk file, but I do not know exactly why.

Sorry I cant be of more help.

P.S. Here is a thread in General Questions Forum where they are discussing tracks right now: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74026

My understanding (which is very limited), is that the tracks are not recorded replays but instead the computer replaying the mission with a saved set of control inputs.

So when a track goes haywire it's probably because of a small difference in AI reaction or the slightest difference in control inputs. This seems to snowball and you get a sort of butterfly effect. Hence longer tracks seem to get really goofy towards the end.

I would recommend you check out FRAPS, I've had some great fun with it in the sim

Yep, that's the problem exactly. However, reliability of track playback has been improved in 1.1.0.8.

NICE!

Working tracks+Fraps equals endless fun.

Watch out Spielberg...

Using fraps myself....

Unfortunately, FRAPS does not help if you want to see a perspective that you did not look at during the original run through. Otherwise, it does a fine job.

I am sure it will be better but some of the current issues still puzzle me.

I am landing on the runway, aside from some stationary AAA (that shot me up) there was no real AI involved in the mission, and yet the replay has me putting down in the grass about half a mile to one side of the runway.

At least I can review with Tacview.
