Hello,

I have a Vaio laptop model VPCEA16FA and the specs are:

Intel Core i5 2.40 Ghz with Turbo Boost up to 2.93 Ghz

Win 7 HP 64 bit

Memory 4 Gb (3.8 available)

ATI 5650 mobility radeon (1Gb dedicated vmem)

Direct X

and still, upon a clean format of the system, a fresh re-install, and a day 1 defrag, I come up with tearing graphics (interrupting or non-smooth specially when moving towards AO, and at start of mission when I wiggle my head right and left for smoothing up, its the only game I have on the computer and the graphics I set to perfomance via ATi CCC

I own a trackIR4 Pro bundle and the driver is up to date.

Any advice is indeed appreciated. I'm considering A-10c for purchase but afraid my lap wont handle it, at least as smooth as BS (go figure). Would you guys enunciate?

Thanks

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

I believe what you are expieriencing is not low framerate but tearing. I'm not sure how to force vsync in black shark but i believe that ati tray tools is needed. This problem should get sorted out when BS is patched to the current engine, which is capable of forcing vsync on it's own.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Right CTRL + Pause should display your framerate so you can see what's going on, I recommend you cap your frame rate at 30 in the graphics.cfg, inputting 29 actually gives you a 30 fps cap inside the sim. Just like sobek I'm unsure if vsync works in Black Shark since it's been a long time since I've flown it.

+1 What Sinky said. Use this program,(installer) to open this file, Program files/Eagle Dynamics/Ka-50/Config/graphics.cfg, Right click on graphics.cfg, select edit with notepad ++ go to line 404 Max FPS= *; (* change to desired number) go to file and save.(copying original and keeping as a back-up before changing is a good idea)

You can also look at this tweak guide on BS for more info:

I would say according to the specs of model "VPCEA16FA" that this would be your limiting factor for both KA-50 and A-10C: 500 GB (Serial ATA, 5400 rpm) Slower disk speeds translate into stuttering. You could get a faster hard drive, or even a super fast SSD, (not sure what SATA you have, probably 3.0Gb/s) but my guess is it should run as is. You'll most likely have to tweak it in between taking molds and adjusting braces until you find your happy median and put a frame rate cap on it in basically the same way as you did, or will do for Black Shark. Nothing to do but buy and try.
