I have just downloaded a couple of the amended Startup Guides for 1.1.0.8 kindly donated by fellow forum members, and noticed they still don't turn on the CDU and EGI switches until after engine start. Page 434 of the manual states these should now be turned on before engine start to facilitate a faster alignment process.

Manual is correct - CDU and EGI can be turned on with APU power only. Saves a coupla seconds/minutes.

I always turn the CICU and EGI on as soon as the APU is running to speed up the alignment process.

FYI...when my updated checklist is released (Monday) it will have the steps in the following order, IAW the 1A-10C-1CL-1-WA-1. I was waiting for the release of 0.8 so I didn't get 20 questions about why I was saying start the CDU/EGI before engine start as well as the HARS/EGI buttons. The numbering won't be the same when released due to removal of FOUO info and what isn't applicable to the sim but below is the actual steps & step numbers from the -1CL

11. APU switch - START (or signal for external air).

12. L-FUEL PRESS light - Check off.

13. APU generator switch - PWR.

14. AAP:

a. CDU switch - ON.

b. EGI switch - ON.

15. CDU - Set for desired alignment.
