theghost Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) Sure something is wrong, I tried another mission and it did not work, I made a mission and it does not work to Edited June 5, 2011 by theghost The 147 Squadron commander "The Goring Ram"
rockyalexander Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 It worked for me, although I did change the JTAC's frequency to 131 AM.
macd1102 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 i have been having similar problems with SP JTAC Practice Day, i can communicate with jtac its when they should send the red contact on my tad that nothing happens, this is only since the newest patch [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel I7 8700k processor overclocked to 5.0, Asus ROG Z370-E , 32 GB G Skill Ripjaw DDR4 2400 ram, Nvidia Geforce 1080 TI , Virpil Constellation Alpha/ Virpil 50 CM2 Base/MFG Crosswinds rudders/TIR 5, Windows 10 64 bit
theghost Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 It's really annoying, one day it works, and the next day it's not, I really do not understand how this could happen, I did a clean install of my win7/64 and also includes all the updated drivers and the game in its full version 1.1.0.8 that I downloaded from the site,Yet it does not work,I would be happy if one of the developers would give his opinion on this matter. Iceman2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Here's working version of your mission, I don't know if it has something to do if the mission was made with 1.0.0.7 or not, but good flying :) just remade SEALSP JTAC Practice Dusk RC7.miz
Groundhog Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Also having problems with no data being sent. Made a new mission in 1.1.0.8. for MP. If I start airborne it works. If I start on the ground with engines running it does not work. No green crosses or other SADL icons. JTRS switch is on. Net is 01 and 01 Any ideas? thanks GH
Iceman2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Only what comes to mind with no red triangle thing, I had F-18 in my mission as JTAC - he didn't have EPLRS and couldn't send data to me, then I changed to F-15E and it had EPLRS automatically added and worked well

Sometimes the WTM co-ordinates are 840 miles away sometimes ok. This stuff is still fairly new to us so it could be something I am missing too. Edited June 6, 2011 by 214th_bungle_uk
theghost Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 opss sorry...:) The 147 Squadron commander "The Goring Ram"
Groundhog Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 OK I think I have solved my problem. Combination of two things. one: need EPLRS equipped JTACs now so I changed the units I was using to ones with EPLRS. two:In previous build I could contact JTAC whilst still on the ground and receive data. in the new build it seems that there is a weight on wheels block on data. After takeoff SADL kicks in and data will come through to the TAD. Works for me now I understand changes. thanks for the ideas guys. Bungle I read that the co-ords miles away problem can be caused by the cursor in the TAD being far from your aircrafts position when you are talking to JTAC. Worth trying. GH 1
Bungle_uk Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I think I got it, it was because I had to change the WTM zone from 38T to 37T. There is a zone change that runs right through Senaki which was causing the issues.

The settings I use which may or may not have an impact are Easy Communications = On and Radio Assist = Off. These JTAC practice missions were among my favorites and I flew them quite often. Something is different after the latest patch. Not complaining, but would like to solve this puzzle. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Intel i7-8700K @4.9Ghz | 32Gb memory DDR4 | Evga GTX 1080ti | Saitek Eclipse keyboard | Logitech Mx518 | CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle/Pedales | TIr5 | Win10 x64 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Take a look at page 458 of the manual for more detail. From the manual "The world is divided into large grid zones. They're given a number from 1 to 60 based on their east-west position (longitude) and a character based on their north-south position (latitude)."
Scratchy Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I've looked through that section and the CDU / TAD sections as well. I also did some ramp time looking over the CDU and TAD. Are you keying in the coordinates given by the observer? When you say you switched to 38T from 37T, you're able to do this by itself or as part of entering the coordinates? If you could, please elaborate on your procedure when accepting JTAC information. Bungle_uk Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) Once I recieved the co-ordinates from the JTAC e.g. GG467775 1. create a new waypoint in the CDU waypoint page (?3) 2. enter 37T in the scratchpad then press OSB 17 on the CDU page(4th one down on the left) 3. enter GG467775 in the scratchpad and press OSB 16 on the CDU page(5th one down on the left) 4. change waypoint selector from flightplan to mission 5.select waypoint 3 for your target (or whichever number it was you created at step 1)then proceed with comms to JTAC you may also want to add the elevation data too Hope that was helpful Edited June 6, 2011 by 214th_bungle_uk
