sobek Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I will upgrade in the Fall and (hate to say) am looking seriously at the G940. Don't. I had my throttle firmware fail once on my HW and still, i am by far more satisfied with it than that cheapo POC. The hardware of the G940 is inferior. Maybe they corrected some of that but when i bought in 2009, the hysteresis on all(!) the axes, even those that use hall sensors, made precise control impossible and the rotary pots failed after 2 months of *very* sporadic use. If my firmware fails another 10 times, i'd still not trade my HW for a g940. No question. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Steel Jaw Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Stop lying to yourself, you're gonna get the Warthog. I am open to persuasion. Big question is how to make it appear as a computer component on the work upgrade plan bill. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.
ivanwfr Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Here is what wiki has to say about this :smartass: : Identify the constraint (the resource or policy that prevents the organization from obtaining more of the goal) Decide how to exploit the constraint (get the most capacity out of the constrained process) Subordinate all other processes to above decision (align the whole system or organization to support the decision made above) Elevate the constraint (make other major changes needed to break the constraint) If, as a result of these steps, the constraint has moved, return to Step 1. Don't let inertia become the constraint.[5 ...the full story is here: Theory of Constraints

RAF74_Raptor Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Personally I love mine and would not return it for the world. As for the issue of rudder's well to be honest I cant fix that one for you. eventually I would recommend buying a set you will never look back once you do. Stay the course the WH is a great stick I came I saw I got blown up by a SA-8:pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.firstfighterwing.com/forums/content.php
RAF74_Raptor Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 As a 10 year owner of the flawed Cougar, and previously the F22 etc, TM has not earned my respect for quality of manufacturing. It is quite correct to be cautious about sinking $500 into this latest TM "experiment". I will upgrade in the Fall and (hate to say) am looking seriously at the G940. Mower do not do that. Although you havent known me very long I assure you the G940 is complete ****. I love my warthog but I would reccomend a saitek X65 before the G940 I came I saw I got blown up by a SA-8:pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.firstfighterwing.com/forums/content.php
sobek Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 In all the time I have known sobek he has not once been prone to theatrics.......I dare say I detected an anxiety-fuelled, manic mental explosion of sorts when he referred to the G940 in his post! Don't get me started. So many poor design choices on that unit, hardware and software wise, it's a 250€ ticket for a constant throbbing headache. Starting from the poor quality pots in the throttle and pedals to the hysteresis problem that is still not fixed AFAIK, the HUGE slop because they were not able to not make the FFB motors not fight each other without completely disabling them at the center, the crappy ergonomics... 17 months ago i have parted with it and it still makes me angry, that's about the only feat i can think of right now. :D Good, fast, cheap.
