spike2450 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hi I've searched / no luck. If i'm diverting to an airfield u r given the airfields elevation, how do i set this and how do i stop myself from flying into the ground in bad visibility without relying on Betty. :helpsmilie: Many thanks
Depth Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Use the radar altimeter? One VERY good and often overlooked feature is to set RDALT tape to Y in the display modes IFFCC test function. This gives a tape going from 0 to 1500 feet AGL on the hud. Can pull off some sick moves using that thing. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
bluepilot76 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hi, just call up the tower, the frequency is on the divert page. They will give you the QFE (pressure setting). Set that pressure into the altimeter. The altimeter will now tell you your height above the airfield. 1 Technical Specs: Asus G73JW gaming laptop... i7-740QM 1.73GHz ...
