Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 This isn't the kind of detail I was looking at in the Encyclopaedia. My graphic settings are on the preset "medium". I can guarantee medium looks better then that. It looks like a model that would be used for viewing far-away objects. ATI 5650 Windows 7 64bit Any help would be nice.
Panzertard Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Looks a little bit like the bloke in this thread: Can't Get Detailed Ground Textures See the last posts on page 2 and 3 there, perhaps you have something of the same issues? Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Anisotropic filtering. AA How do I change that? Looks a little bit like the bloke in this thread: Can't Get Detailed Ground Textures See the last posts on page 2 and 3 there, perhaps you have something of the same issues? So you're saying I need to remove the "haze" feature?
Panzertard Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 You should try - to see if it makes a difference, yes. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Panzertard Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hmmmm, I seem to have found my problem.... I've started to tweak my graphics again (heavy tweaking required for x850). Once again I lost the ground textures In options.lua when I change... ["haze"] = 1, to.... ["haze"] = 0, I lose the ground textures....is this right? options.lua You may have to turn on "show hidden files and folders" in Windows. If you have Vista/Windows 7 Either in - C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config or directly in: - C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config If you have 64bit editions of Vista/Win7, you need to look for "Program Files(x86)". If you have Windows XP you may just go to the program files - and skip the 'users\appdata' suggestion. The mind is like a parachute. Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Dammit, it doesn't work. :/ No option to 'repair' Patch 1.21, so I guess completely uninstalling and reinstalling Lock-on is the only way, ya?
Panzertard Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Well, you could try a few more things first. - Tweak the AA? Not sure how, but check the other thread, didn't they mention that too there? - If your user settings was saved in the \user\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2, you can rename the folder there "LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2" - -> "OLD - LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2" This way you reset all user settings, and try again without tweaking too much. Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 I tried going to my video card settings and setting the Mipmap from "high performance" to "high quality" and I think that did the job. Still, the plane model has alot to be desired and I still think it is... wrong. Does the model not show any moving engine blades? Is the Avenger simply the a cylinder? Or are my graphics bugged?
HiJack Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Try setting your ATI 3D settings to Standard settings "High Quality" and all DCS textures to MAX. 1
Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Try setting your ATI 3D settings to Standard settings "High Quality" and all DCS textures to MAX. I did this an it works. FLAWLESSLY. Thank you sir! Hell, I actually got a higher framerate.
