WarriorX Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Here is the YouTube vid showing my interaction with the Ground Crew via the Intercom Panel. The volume came out very low, so please crank up the volume, sorry about that.(don't forget to turn your volume back down when your done!):shocking: Also, there is some fun cloud flickering due to my SLI settings, so if you want a seizure, just stare at them. I recommend viewing in as high a resolution as you can, and maybe watch it at YouTube instead of the embedded video here. 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" tusler Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) Great video! But it sucks that it will not work right on my system no matter what I do. I thought it might be my KVM switch so I hooked straight into the PC with Keyboard and Mouse and F8 will not work at all. Does anyone know where the F8 key is assigned to open the ground menu? Is it in a editable file some where? I notice when I hit the F8 key to open ground menu my view jumps. I have Track IR and I have centering assigned to Shift + F12 F8 is not assigned to anything that I know of, but something is not right and reinstalling will not fix it.:helpsmilie: Oh if it matters I am using Win 7 64bit Thanks UPDATE, I have found the problem! it is Win7. For some reason it is not letting the F8 key work. Guess I'll have to reload it and see if that fixes it. Edited July 26, 2011 by tusler Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! docehrenhoefer Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Hi, another reason for F-keys not working can be the TrackIR-Software, as I found out. Couldn´t use F7, till I found out that TrackIR-precision mode was toggled by F7. Changed TrackIR-keymapping, et voilá!
Damage Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Hi, another reason for F-keys not working can be the TrackIR-Software, as I found out. Couldn´t use F7, till I found out that TrackIR-precision mode was toggled by F7. Changed TrackIR-keymapping, et voilá! Indeed, TrackIR software hot keys (F7, F8, F9 and F12) could interfere with the DCS key commands. I remapped my TIR hot keys to the optional DX commands output by my CH HOTAS. For some reason it is not letting the F8 key work. Guess I'll have to reload it and see if that fixes it. Tusler, before you reinstall Win7, go into your trackir profile for DCS A-10C Warthog and look at the Profiles tab. On the Profiles tab page at the top is a section called HotKeys. In there is a drop down box with Trackir functions and the key associated with that function is listed in the box marked Key. Look through all the functions in the dropdown box and see if any of the functions have the F8 key bound to them. If there is one that has the F8 key bound, then you want to make sure to uncheck the TRAP box. (TRAP keeps the F8 key from being used in any other program except Trackir when it is running) With the F8 untrapped, go back and try the sim. If F8 is mapped to something you have to have available, then you can remap it to another open key like scroll lock, or the multiplication key on the keypad. tusler Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the input! The first thing I did when I installed Win7 and put track ir on it was reset all the Hotkeys using the Shift + F7, Shift +F9, and Shift + F12. I am using Track IR 3 pro and it works. I have a much bigger problem unfortunately. When I installed some keyboard testing software it quickly became apparent that F8 is not working at all. First I tried a different keyboard, 2 other's and each had the same result. I tried using restore to a month ago but it did not fix the problem. I did a google search and found there is an issue in some cases with Win7 64 bit and Function keys not working. I tried the hot fix from microsoft but that did not work either. I disconnected the Track IR and uninstalled the software and that did not help. It is something to do with patches Microsoft has put out. So my advice is if you have... MSI P67A-GD55 Mainboard with 16gig of DDR3 ram and a TI-560 2gig video do not update from microsoft or it may stop working correctly. I knew Vista has some update problems but this is the first time I have run into Win7 with update problems. Good thing I only work 3 days a week so I can get back up in the air quicker!
